You know I see a lot of trash get uploaded here. Lots of cynical asset flips from Eastern Europe and China, lots of terrible and unnecessary remakes of popular games done with zero soul or effort, a bazillion dumb Visual Novels that my eye just slides over without registering. To say nothing of derivative, fucking awful wannabe horror games where you collect pages or tapes or whofuckingcares, shat out by the worst and greediest of developers who know they can turn a quick buck on Unity or UnrealEngine assets bought cheap or even free because retards on Twitch or Youtube or whatever will buy it.
This, though. What the fuck is this. I deliberately did not use a question mark in this sentence because it is not a question, it is a statement. What the fuck is this. The misappropriation of a popular and established setting and franchise. The fucking UI, I mean just look at that fucking monstrosity. The jarring amalgamation of disparate graphic assets. What the fuck IS THIS. Is it someone's class project? An insane and misguided passion project? Outsider art of the most sublime pedigree? Is it foreign? Was it made by a child? WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS? Now it is a question. Now it demands answering. How can it exist? How hasn't it been removed from Steam yet? Is it a mixture of madness and jest? A sign of the immanent eschaton that will wipe the virus of humanity from the face of long suffering Mother Earth? Is it our doom that we behold in the endless janky gloom? This took time and effort, how, why, what, all is lost all is lost
Well what can we do man? Things change and like it or not, this is now the reality and it sucks. IGG could just not upload them subpar games but like their motto, We are Gamers, We are Family means things will be posted here, when a user request them whether they are good or not. I myself just tend to avoid clicking at them to be honest. Save myself from another heartbreak.
Though my comments may sound critical, and in fact ARE critical of the majority of garbage produced in the medium I love, IGG provides the exactly appropriate venue for most of this stuff, so I'm not trying to criticize the site at all. To be honest, I often use IGG to sift through the pages and pages of even worse shit sold on Steam nowadays; if it's not uploaded here, it's unlikely to be worth even looking at (with some exceptions, large and small, usually related to some form of copy-protection).
Like my first post said, I see garbage everyday, but this one looks like something special. Like The Room or a Neil Breem movie. Just looking at the trailer it's clear that someone put time into this, and also that it is beyond terrible. I respect that, and I would like to know more about the person that not only produced this, but thought it should be shared. It's just so weird, it's like finding a painting in the bathroom at Pizzahut of Robocop slaying a dragon with a buttplug painted with ketchup and mustard. Honestly, I was hoping someone could provide some insight so I don't have to play the game myself.
