so this game can be run on a lot of platforms if you do a few things, I hope that this will help someone. First download this game from here and get one file out of the rar, all you need is the file called data.solarus. next download the solarus engine for the platform you want, currently supported officially are windows, macOS, linux, bsd, and soon android. the more interesting platforms are the non official but working ports the only one I have tested is the switch homebrew port. now using the solarus-launcher one what ever platform you are using load the data.solarus and you are good to go. have fun
It's 100% a Zelda clone. Everything about it is like A Link to the Past, including the controls, the enemies, animations, sprites. Not that this is a bad thing, it's just that there's no chance they didn't base this game directly off of Zelda games.
Well the first ones were too bumpy (pun intended), then it got real frenzy in a good way of course, and now thanks to having party we can play coop (ys 8), of course, player 2 never dies which is lame, but anyway, the frenzy is still there. Actually its pretty much the same except now we have a dodge button. And a shitton of skills, that in some installments alright they may seem like the same thing with different colors. Still, even the latest games have pretty much a style of their own imho, with perfect dodges and guards. Granted, i HAVE NOT played the later zelda games, specially interested in skyward sword for how the combat looks, and all kidding aside (was not actually kidding), i know a link to the past is a cult classic. But alas, the rest of muh statement stays
Well there is a reason people imitate zelda and not other games like, say, YS. Simplistic easy to clone gameplay. Its as simplistic as it gets. I'm talking about the action here boys. I could not give two damns about these "crafting" systems in games or loot or whatever other bullshit.
Seems to be a very neat little ARPG. It's made with RPGMaker, and it seems to play almost exactly like "Zelda : a link to the past", on Super Nes. (1992, right?) Let's try! Thanks, IGG!😍
it uses the solarus engine, version 1.6.4 to be exact. the reason why it feels just like altp is because the engine was made for a fan clone/squeal of that game called The Legend of Zelda: Mystery of Solarus DX
To clarify why that bothered me, I have autohotkey script that works nicely with basically any RPGMaker game but due to your misinformation I thought it'd work with this game without needing to change anything.
Then you've never played A Link to the Past. I would bet every dollar I have and every dollar I'll ever earn for the rest of my life that the developer used Zelda games as the inspiration for this one, and specifically used A Link to the Past for most of it.
it's not like zelda is the only one allowed to make this kind of games, same goes for dark soul, what, do you want to make developers stop making game just because they look like some other games that have the same game style. btw i like this one
People keep complaining about it like it's a problem. If it looks like a great game, then it's also a great game. That's like saying that a chocolate cake tastes like a chocolate bar 77
ikr! Being inspired by something more popular isn't a problem at all as long as they tick the right boxes that made those games fun. I like that comparison to cake since cake has been done to hell by everybody but hey they taste good when they're made with the right balance of ingredients and it will sell no matter what.
