Based on my personal experience, these types of Unity games are generally not too bad.
Typically, the animations are sourced from the Unity Marketplace, which can lead to some cliché and repetitive elements, but they usually aren't terrible. Sometimes, the scenes and characters are also taken from the Unity Marketplace. Essentially, everything is readily available, the developer just needs to assemble the kits and add some fetch quests. How bad could it really be?
My question for these games is usually "Is it even worth your time to download and install", Not a bet game does not equal a good game, and there are lots of actual "good" hentai games on the Internet that are either extremely erotic, One of a kind, or have actually immersive storytelling.
This is what I think when I see those type of Unity 3D hentai games "not a bad game but not worth your time either"
I usually don't recommend half-finished or early access games, but Starmaker Story's development is mostly finished already. Many character's endings are already set, so it makes an exception for me.
I just checked the review for Companion of Darkness, and it seems to be a very good visual novel (VN). Unfortunately, I have too many VNs that I haven't finished yet, and it's usually not wise to start a new one while there are older masterpieces I have yet to finish.
In my opinion, I would suggest you to avoid playing any VN that doesn’t have at least one "character route ending" available (That is at least one of girls need have a final ending).
I’ve seen so many VN projects over the years (particularly the promising ones) get abandoned because the plan were too ambitious. After a few years of development, the dev still be no ending in sight, and lost the interest or have other priorities in life. As a result, the project either gets abandoned entirely or the development progresses at such a slow pace that it feels virtually abandoned.

Recommend mostly finish mother's storyline before doing other girl's side quest. Because there are a few bugs in the current version, else some event may not trigger correctly for other girls.
