I'm having trouble installing this, i run the installer tell it where i want it to install click install and leave it while i do something else, came back 5 mins later still not even started come back 1 hour later still the same. can anyone helpp me out?
It is inferior to the previous installment. However I personally think the battle is slightly better, with tactics and some weird turn based/real time style of battle. I always thought the previous game's battle is just, send your biggest stack of dudes to the center of a town and just kill everybody in the way. Resolves are also nice, it gives every faction some form of uniqueness. I always thought that factions in the previous game all felt the same. I hope they make an update where they allow custom factions, custom battle skills and custom resolves. Like ROTK15, where you can make custom specialties or skills. Unfortunately I think everything else is sub-par. No retainer mode or whatever where you get to play as a retainer in a faction. And by the goddess why can't I place multiple custom characters in a location in the officer edit screen? The previous game had it just for ease of use, so you can quickily reposition where characters start at. All in all, I see it like EA's Sims series. Why bother with the newer game where the previous game is available, has more content and better quality of life functions? Unless it's like 30 bucks, I wouldn't touch it.
Wow, now that you mentioned it, I made a typo there. I meant 'ROTK13'. The newest one on Steam. Really sorry about that! Can't seem to edit my 3 month old comment.
I see, too bad. I was hoping there was one. I mostly agree with what you wrote except its too early for the retainer mode, I mean the retainer mode of Nobunaga's Ambition 14 was added long after its base game was released.
Someone on the steam forums have the same problem with nvwgf2umx.dll but no one replied to his thread lol. I managed to make the japanese version run. I wonder if the OS is the problem. It says that only supports the japanese version of Windows 7...
Everything is tested and scanned before being uploaded, this website is virus free. If you get a trojan, it's false positive, like explained http://igg-games.com/virus-trojan.html.
If you're thinking about getting this, I recommend you don't. They've simplified what was once a great strategy game series into something that's close to mobile game levels of simplicity, and it just doesn't live up to the Nobunaga's Ambition name. I recommend getting Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence Ascension instead. It's the game right before this one, and is so much better. Plus it's only 10gb while this game is for some baffling reason 27gb, even though its worse than Ascension.
It's 27gb. If that's a bit much for you, then I don't blame you. It's nearly triple the size of the last game in the series (which was only 10gb) and to top it all off, it's bad. The one before was much better than this. If you haven't already tried it, I recommend you get it, it's called Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence Ascension.
You really can't compare them too much though. Both games are vastly different in how they handle strategy, and are marketed toward different people. Total War games focus a huge part of the game on the battles and how they play out with you the player commanding them. Despite that they can, in theory, be played without ever commanding a battle, they're really not meant to be played that way and there's a heavy emphasis on battlefield tactics and strategy. Although Nobunaga's Ambition also has battles where you control where different armies go on the battlefield and you can see individual troops engaging other troops, they're way more simple, and NA games are, like Paradox games, much more focused on the grand strategy element of it, while also putting emphasis on different plot lines, unique officers, resources, and generally a broader scope of the wars you fight. I'd go as far as to say that in some parts, NA games have more depth than Shogun 2, and Total War games in general. They're both amazing strategy games though, I don't dispute that.
I have the same question: what exactly happened? Like, what's wrong with it? It doesn't seem too bad, at least not from this video (the video is long, so skip to around 42 minutes to see what I'm talking about): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDKg6BHyH7c I was just about ready to hate it and recommend people to get Ascension instead, but it actually doesn't look that bad. And the fact that it's nearly triple the size of Ascension makes me think that they've crammed it with new features
They made the game simpler, but not better. They removed the building settlements part of the game, simplified everything to basic levels (including battles which were already ultra-simplistic), removed custom factions and officer mode and graphically it looks worse than Sphere of influence, which is mind-blowing Game's size means fuck all, on the steam page it says it only is 10 GBs, i don't know why the archives are 20+ (and features don't take up space, graphics and audio do) Mind you, there will be a power up kit, as always, which probably will work on those features i talked about
Yeah, I took a closer look at the video I linked in my comment instead of skipping around. They really did completely oversimplify and dumb down the game. I wonder why. They were doing great with their previous releases, and then suddenly this. Come to think of it, a lot of game companies seem to be getting into this trend of turning once great games into simplified crap so even the dumbest people who aren't even part of the target audience of the game can play it. Only, by doing so, they ruin it for the ones who actually did like it, who are part of the niche. I guess I'll stick to Ascension then. Hopefully by the 16th game, they'll realize the atrocity they committed on their own game series. Thanks.
I don't have the latest version of this game, sorry.
nvm I already fix.
how to change the language to english?
