Instead of wasting your time with this, if you want a very good ARPG that literally NOBODY ever heard of, and is one of the most underrated ARPGs of the last decade? Play https://igg-games.com/ember-free-download.html.
Quick note: the page you linked is faulty and all the downloads point to Embark for some reason. The correct one is https://igg-games.com/ember-137016362-free-download.html Thanks for tip by the way I never heard of it. And I kinda wanted to find something worthy of following Grim Dawn. Which Wolcen wasn't (for me). Oh and I've been trying 7 Days to Die following your advice. Interesting beast. So thanks for that too. You got interesting tastes I'd say.
Well, all the links are dead anyway. Gladly I downloaded it some time ago but didn't find the time to play it yet. I played through Wolcen and had to force myself to finish it but I'm also not so fond of Grim Dawn as the skill system is more or less Titan Quest and I didn't like it's skill system either. Also had to force myself to finish Titan Quest (even before Atlantis was out) and won't touch it again. At the moment I hope that they will fix Torchlight 3. But I'm not really so much into the endless grind for better gear anymore as it takes too much time that could be spend playing other games. My backlog / pile of shame is most likely one of the worst. xD Also, it's getting mind numbing if a game doesn't have an interesting story and gameplay where you have to use your brain. Gone are the times where I was willing to grind to level 99 in JRPGs. Btw, you should have called yourself Nobody instead of John Doe, because your Avatar is Terence Hill playing Nobody. ^^
Oh, that's weird, I just tried and the link points to Ember correctly. But I know that one time, I had such problems with an adblocker. Maybe it's related? 🤔 Worthy of Grim Dawn? Hmmm Ember is really good, but not that good. I really love the feeling and style of Grim Dawn. The only other game in this genre I loved in the past few years were Titan Quest (remastered). Before that, Torchlight 2, but it has aged a bit. I really wonder if they'll keep improving Wolcen or abandon it. I'm one of the first who played the alpha version years ago and it was super cool. But now, I'm not sure... Interesting tastes? He he I play all kinds of games. (even golf games like Links 2003. Really) But I play way less now, and spend more time giving advice to people on IGG. My work is crazy... 😖 Recently, the only game I play when I take a break (I work at home) is Doom + mods (for example, Project Brutality + Dark Encounters maps). Also, I download countless games which I never play. ha ha (I swear I will!) Recently : Fae Tactics, Darksburg(not sure I can play this solo), Grounded(reminds me of "Honey, I shrunk the kids"), Destroy All Humans!. I focus mainly on indie games, I'm not too interested in AAA. 😁 What very recent games have you been downloading from IGG (or purchased)? I have noticed on another similar website that Horizon New Dawn is coming and everybody is freaking out but I'm not sure if it's my style of game. I want to watch some let's play videos...🤔
The link points to Ember but the downloads are for Embark I swear it's true. Try one of the links you'll see. Anyway, regarding your questions I'm pretty much trying everything I can get my hands on (barring the really cheap knock-offs or low effort indie games). And usually I mod the crap out of them too ! Not much into VN, or platforming. But appart from that - I'm pretty much omnivorous : Star Traders, ARK, Avorion, PUBG, Red Dead 2, GTA V, Spacebourne, Starsector... Not gonna list them all obviously. My last crush was for State of Decay 2 - I thought it flimsy at first glance but I after a while it really shines. If only multiplayer was as good as the solo (it's a weird coop tethered to the host ...). Phoenix Point is also a big time sink at the moment thanks to the incredible Cthulhu patch. A real gamechanger. I even host a Minecraft server every week or so for my 12 year old nephew and his school buddies to play on. I love being the God (admin) of these kids they're awesome, creative and pretty funny (and also annoying but I take the good and leave the rest). Also, Horizon is in the pipe but 60G my god. Even with my high-speed internet imps it's gonna take a while ... But seems to be worth it (or so the pros keep saying). Anyway, thanks again for the tips you spread here and there. I lurk, take note and try and sometimes it's really worth it (7 Days is quite something as I said). Again, interesting tastes. Cheers. P.S. Links 2003 ?!? Really ?
The main reason i like it is the socket system. In Throne of Darkness there is no such thing as "random" items, very rare/unique items are items that have 30-60+ socket slots, and you can place tons of different things in those sockets that give different bonuses, making really cool stuff. Also all the gear you get in the game, you recycle it saving the parts, and then you use those parts to have your own blacksmith forge whatever you want. It's pretty unique and underrated i'd say.
Hello, This crashes on my comp just at the end of the beginning cinematic. Anyone have a clue about this. All I get is and appcrash error. Thankyou I think it is an lib burst generated dll problem
Thanks for the info, although just scrolling the screenshot of the games, people comments, and checking the genre is not one great way to 'scan' a game. Wish I do have better pc soon.
To be fair, I definitely didn't try the game, and I kinda like the graphics, judging from the screenshots. But the Steam reviews convinced me that it would annoy me too much. Some people complained about already breaking their mouse. ha ha 😄
Also I've saw your comment on Grim Dawn, the game is awesome after around 60 hours playtime. The lore, the mechanics, the skill trees, the characters, the story, EVERYTHING in the game is just, how I do put it, awesome-great-superb-damn great crazy; although there's one thing that made me sad it is the nonexistent of Bestiary, that would really be helpful when looting specific items and on. My estimation of how long would I 'end' this game (the main game, Ashes of Malmouth & The Forgotten Gods) maybe around 250-300 hours (not counting those hard to get achievement like clear the game on Hardcore difficulty or slaying some specific bosses on Ultimate difficulty; it would absolutely take a new game character or a newgame plus if there are any [I blocked any spoiler from the web, tho]). Right now I'm on level 57 with Nightblade as my main skill (category?) and Necromancer as the second. I thought it would be awesome to have a character wielding Dual Blades and having a tons of Skeleton minions/ a few strong Blight fiend as my minion, fighting along my side and when they died I would say "RISE UP" *a trivia from somewhere. I'm on Act 3 (still on the Blood Grove area and working on the Homestead quests there, while also wondering how the food problem on Devil's Crossing would be solved because even though the quest for "We Need Food" is cleared, they're still starving) and if you wonder why it take so long time for me when I have that hours of playtime, I am GRINDING on my characters and the game. By what I meant GRINDING is not just for the Exp, Gears, and Materials; no, I'm still learning on understanding the game completely. You can't (or can) blame me because as my memory was right, this is my second ARPG game that I've played. Can you believe that it take around 50 hours later or so for me to just know that there is a tab function to change the category item that being sold on the Salvage Dealer, because before that I'm just leveling, selling, making my way through the highest possible wave on the Crucible, exploring those vast area on the world map to progress on the story, whilst possessing half or more of my equipment just having Magic quality item and one or two Rare quality, also I played the game on Veteran difficulty almost all the time after I gave up testing the game on Normal difficulty around 2-3 hours of grinding and didn't lucky enough to get at least 1 Rare item, yeah that's how unlucky I am. But fear not, because after some time spending on the Crucible I've managed to get One powerful (although it is not that powerful right now) Rare weapon item if I'm not wrong, and afterward the game proceed almost smoothly with the exception of the Shattered Realm, my best run is just on the 3rd Shard and managed to get to the 5th Shard but until I got stronger, I'll leave it be. Also it take some times later to know that the right button mouse could be assigned to a skill (damn it, before that I ignored some good skill I've found on my playthrough because I don't have enough space left on my first Skill Slot Bar and the second is just for the semi passive category). Anyway thank you Lily, for your comment on Grim Dawn, it also help the progress on my novel to some extent because I've played this game. Really thank you. High five!
Really don't get why some people think Diablo is the best hack and slash ARPG game is, and its not. There's like so many other ARPG games that are way better than Diablo.
I don't know why everyone isn't playing Grim Dawn. It has a super active online community, allows dual classes for hybrid builds that actually compliment each other in many various, well balanced ways, and it's got plenty of tiered loot with randomized stat ratios that're spread out over multiple difficulty modes. Not to mention it has a few DLC's worth of extra content now, most of which got good reviews, and it's all in a dark fantasy/post apocalyptic setting.
Thanks for tip by the way I never heard of it. And I kinda wanted to find something worthy of following Grim Dawn. Which Wolcen wasn't (for me).
