The game seems unplayable; I can't figure out how to close the settings menu; there is no button or anything to do so. Moreover, that seems to be the case for every sub-screen in the game such as the achievements screen which again, can't be closed. I think you're supposed to navigate the game like a web-page (using web-page navigation keys), but even if that were the case (which means basic functionality is undocumented), it's not going to work since the game DEMANDS Internet access to run and for each page load, and I'm not about to leave my firewall off while playing the game and/or giving it special permission through the firewall. 😒 May as well just stick with the website instead. 🤷
Btw Game is free on the web (https://melvoridle.com) And about it being a early access game dev are super active an they are releasing tons of content every 1-2 months (This is the road map https://melvoridle.com/roadmap/ )
Mostly as a different way to support the dev. Steam doesn't have support for ads so he is doing it as a pay to play through it. People still have the option to play through the website or app stores with ads if they can't support through buying it.
I've seen at least 1 image that isn't public domain. So yeah. Not supporting this dev. Edit: bruh 95% of the (Heavily compressed) images, including SVG files, are findable online. I doubt they even have an artist on the team.
Am I profiting off someone else's work? Or am I just downloading something and only paying for those who I deem deserve it. I buy the shit I like, I don't steal parts if someones work and try to sell it to others under a different name. The dev clearly noticed since the original image has been swapped out.
That I recognize at least one piece of artwork,as something that ain't in public domain, meaning, they just ripped someones work off the internet. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Y2Wew "You may not upload this image without permission to Steam, Spotify or any other site, or use in any printed form. You may not edit the artwork."
I am well aware of what public domain means. Where did you see this image used in game? And if it used in game, how do you know they didn't get permission and paid him...??? That's how that works. Game has been in development for a little while now, I am pretty sure the dev knows what he is doing.
Registration page, nowhere is the mention of Mikael Gustafsson nor a mention of among trees. Also the login page image's have also been reposted a million times on the internet, doubt they bought the rights to use it. Maybe bought the stock images, doubt they bought the rights to use it.
How are you so confident he didn't? Just because there isn't a mention of his name there doesn't mean he didn't get the rights, you have no idea what their deal was. If you're so sure then go notify the artist.
The artist clearly states that you should give credit however there is none due to the cropping. AND GUESS WHAT, the original image has now been swapped out. So clearly he had a good reason to replace it.
Maybe they licensed it from a stock-gallery which licensed it from the artist, or any of a number of other possible explanations. You're jumping to conclusions and making assumptions—and to what end, to justify pirating the game? 🤨
Well which is it buddy?

Anyways, this game requires internet access.
