nothing special in this one, but not a bad one either, your time will be well spent (if not wasted :P) Ps. If you dont like VNS this one is not for you move on and find something else happy reading!.
hmm, if you prefer a darker kind of Vn (excluding those monster.NTR etc tags) i will recommend - the letter, Kara no shoujo, G-senjou no Maou. or try a mix of romcom and simulation like Miracle Snack Shop - Gijeog-ui Bunsigjib. if you need a non hitch, smoothsailing story (romance mostly) ill recommend my 2 favs - hoshi ori and Ginharu both are extremely long but the plus side is no cheap climax or stuff + good plot they are your avg slice of life but with extra sweetness, or try Hatsukoi 1/1 it has a mix of everything. or you can try Sunrider series which combines simulation with VN. most jap vn have romance or hentai stuff in them, if you need a vn with unique stuff you should look towards western vns or series like Steins;Gate, Umineko no Naku Koro ni, Higurashi no- Naku Koro ni,Utawarerumono: Futari no Hakuoro there are more but the post will drag on :D
you should try and make your own vn too, i do that all the time if your completely new to developing consider getting tyrnobuilder to make vn or if you know some programming start with renpy. makeing vn , making your own story, own twist own ending is nothing but pure satisfaction. cheers.
did you play sorcery jokers? devil on g string? best ever vn for me....just a personal opinion- i like light hearted stories with sweet stuff because i consider vn as excuse to escape reality, real lives are full of rollercoaster rides and i like games which have sweet stories- no violence,no drama, no dark themes etc.... yeah i know i sound like some boring guy now XD my all time favs are hoshi ori, Ginharu, and A sky full of stars + fandisc, Miracle snack shop. other favs of mine (a bit of action and drama) -Sunrider academy, SenrenBanka, NobleWorks, Princess Evangile,Grisaia series, Hello,Goodbye,Wish upon the shooting stars, Wolf tails, and many more but these are some i always keep on my pc :)
i can definitely vibe on the sweet stuff because that's what i love them for, it doesn't mean i don't enjoy other good stuff that doesn't involve the usual moe stuff. also i hate how i know most of the VN's you mentioned and even played them. im kinda knee deep at VN's or maybe im already drowing on it but heck i don't care what happens ill consume it, i have all the time and ways to do it
I already played both Kara no Shoujo (1 and 2) and its true ending, and G-string? I forgot to finish Haru's route. But overall I prefer such mystery theme indeed.
I'd suggest you read my previous comment. You are straight up being disrespectful. Think about it? Are you really the one that's right here? Actually you don't even need to think about it, you know that you are wrong. You just want to keep arguing for no apparent reason. I'm not sure what brought you to think that the only people that read Visual Novels are people with autism. Have you yet noticed that you are the only one that has been throwing insults and have been name-calling left and right? It's hard to say we were offended as much as you were. It's a type of game, it's impossible to say and for it to be true that VNs are only for people with autism.
Just stop it man, don't' bother arguing with people who are not mentally mature enough to understand that people have different preferences. They're probably delusional teenagers who thinks that they know everything and the world revolves around them. That or they are insecure about their tastes that they have to shit on other people's preferences to have a false sense of superiority about their own preferences.
Whether it was a joke or not, it shouldn't be said, and I've no way of knowing whether you were joking or not. Besides that, you also insulted the people who play visual novels and the visual novels themselves in many ways besides telling the people to "die." It's just not right. Your insults are in no way justified. And I see that in one of your previous comment you openly admitted that you are being biased. That I respect, but if you are going to say something biased about a topic that well, one of the main reasons people are on this site for, isn't it better to just not say it at all?
Do you understand what a forum is? Its for free and open discussion. If you think that no one out there is going to have conflicting viewpoints than you, you should just pull the plug now. It's obviously a joke. uWu themselves to death? You're being incredibly thick. I didn't say they should go commit suicide and hang themselves in their garage. Have some sense. and no, its not better to say nothing at all. You didn't create this. This isn't your child. This isn't your lifes work. You took it way too seriously.
Well, first off, this is a comment section, not a forum :p. Anyways, it's not that I took it too seriously it's that you said many things that you shouldn't have said. Also: conflicting viewpoints? People can have different view points, but there is also two words that describe this little debate. Right and Wrong. Not different viewpoints. I don't see why it wouldn't be better to not say anything at all? Do you enjoy insulting things that people like in front of them? If you were to just say that you disliked them or hated them, then that'd be completely fine.
Definition of forum 1a: the marketplace or public place of an ancient Roman city forming the center of judicial and public business b: a public meeting place for open discussion The club provides a forum for people interested in local history. c: a medium (such as a newspaper or online service) of open discussion or expression of ideas Judging from recent encounters, it is obvious you aren't going to win the smart battle with me, so you should stop. Take your grievances up with Merriam-Webster. Sure, I am controversial, I know. I do have to work on that, I appreciate reinforcing that. I'll stop. I'm just going to leave it as each to their own even though I have no idea how this has a following. Edit: Who are you to think that you are "right" and I am "wrong"? Isn't that incredibly hypocritical to the point you are trying to make?
To your edit there. I wouldn't really say it's hypocritical, because I think only one way could be seen as correct. It's like a right or wrong answer. I don't mean to start a little debate again but I think it was already proven by the amount of likes I got and the amount of dislikes you got. It wasn't really that you were wrong but it's more like what you said was bad, and I'm not only referring to your first comment. Edit: these are actually really fun for me so thanks for this chance! I hope you give VNs a try! Really! They aren't as bad as you think. If you're a beginner, then I suggest Grisaia. It'll definitely get you hooked to VNs! One of the best stories! As the other guy said..
I see where you're getting with the definition of forum, but, most the time forum has a general definition among the community as to not use the literate definition of it.
Lol, yeah, I know. I was going to edit my initial response but I kind of wanted to tear into the pedo a little. Never thought there was actually an audience for this stuff.
Here comes the self centered, bratty kids who thinks the world revolves around them. Real mature of you to judge books by their cover and people by their preferences and online avatar names. Seeing that you are a frog in a well and have no idea about visual novels, I won't say much because I know that this is your ignorance speaking. If you were to bash those eroges or nukiges which had no story and showed unnecessary nudity, I would have been fine. But nope, you had to touch on visual novels some of which has amazing stories that you probably have never experienced based on your comments. Want to roast people who plays visual novels? Come back after playing Higurashi, Umineko and the Grisaia series. Judging something without having prior knowledge about that subject, shows your stupidity not your superiority.
That's an interesting way to say that someone is secluded without much information. Frog in a well... Never thought about that analogy, always thought the phrase living under a rock suited it perfectly. I might use that phrase in some of my future writing. Also, I personally have never played Higurashi nor Umineko, I'm not a huge fan of deaths, especially of young girls. I haven't watched it either. I'm sure the story is great but it just doesn't sit right with me.
He has lolicon in his profile picture and screenname, if that doesn't command judgment, I don't know what does. The books title is literally "Underage Nudes" so there's no reason to read within. How fucking thick can you get? Isn't it ironic that apparently I think the world revolves around me because I made light of a shit genre of games yet you just admitted that you wouldn't have shown the same condemnation if I went after whatever the hell you just said. You're no less biased than I, I am just more vocal about it. As much fun as hearing Asian voice over of awful moans and such and clicking "Next" sounds, I'm going to take a hard pass. Way too many actual good GAMES to play and life is rather torturous all on its own with out masochism. I don't need to piss on an electric fence or pass a kidney stone to know that fucking sucks. There are just some things in life that one has a strong intuition for. Its called a survival instinct. This is one of those.
I personally think that if you don't like Visual Novels, that is your call, your opinion, no one can change that. I respect your opinion of hating Visual Novels. I do not dislike you for hating Visual Novels. I also think that you should not be making fun of others who enjoy them and most of all, telling them to die. As a person, you should not be making fun of and insulting someone based on their interests. It's also the most polite thing to do to not insult to your greatest content something that someone likes in front of them. For example, if you and I were walking beside each other and out of nowhere, I start talking about how much I hate dogs, how I want all dog lovers and dogs to die, and how they are all shit, and you were a dog lover. I'm 100% sure you would find that disrespectful and rude. And in fact, that is disrespectful and rude, I should not be saying something like that, especially in front of someone who loves dogs. That is indeed what you have done, don't you think that it's a bit rude? I'm not sure how I can get you to understand but do you see why and how I'm saying it's disrespectful? (By the way I love dogs, so don't get me wrong, this is just being used as an example). Aside from my original comment, as of now, I am not trying to start an argument, I respect your opinion and it is in my belief that you should also respect others' opinions. That is all, I hope you have a great day.
Lol, you don't even know the lingo of basic visual novels and you are here judging people who plays them. Eroge and nukige means the visual novels that you described before, ie. those with heavy porn and no sensible storyline. But visual novels come in many forms, for example Umineko and Higurashi that I mentioned before, has no porn but are still considered visual novels. And they have a god damn good story. Grisaia that I mentioned before has small amount of porn but the story is the main focus and same here as well, the story is one of the best. Now, your statement that, "Asian voice over awful moans and such clicking Next" this refers exactly to Nukige and Eroge (As its name says Erotic-Game or Eroge). Even I do not like these, but these are not the only things that visual novel has to offer. I do not mean to sound as if some kind of elitist but I can clearly see that you have no knowledge about these things and it is completely fine not to have them. But judging something by its cover is not something you should do escpecially in cases of visual novels. And by Visual Novels I am talking about the ones that are actually good.
Oh yeah, I remember reading Grisaia, definitely one of the best stories, I did go Makina's route, but at the H-scene, it just didn't feel right, I then downloaded the all ages version. I'm all about the story for VNs, I just take the H-scenes as something to enjoy that's different. edit: Also, I had no idea that my comment made such a debate, I apologize for any inconvenience.
oh look someone who gets easily offended by somebody prefering lolis over, oh I dunno, fucking OLD HAGS? go and wife a 35+ old single mom with kids from Chad and Tyrone. you wanna play this virtuosity game? let's start with YOU! or fuck off with your virtue signalling here. you mistook this site for twitter
i just like to come here and see how everybody wants to be the warrior at the poseesion of the true and only valuable opinion and word. Kinda fun to see how people cant actually feel offended at the least thing that a complete stranger says and need to have the impulse to solve their lives that are filled with impurity. What a time to be alive. Well i think i will commit UwU and die now.
jesus fuck man you killed him also if you wanted to break down this dudes name i think it means "I love you little girl" or "i like you little girl" or something like that
Why the hate on VNs? And you're telling the people who read VNs to kill themselves? You're shit, get off the internet, thank you very much. Just because you have dyslexia and can't read doesn't mean they suck.
They are the most mainstream and marketed options in the genre though. Sure, the classic AA trilogy and the first dangyhanronpa, back in the DS/PSP era are cult classics and we all remember them with love, but once you truly dwelve into this world you see they are only like the tip of the iceberg. It also doesnt help much that the vast majority of these stuff is in japanese only or fan translations, hence why those two became super popular being a few of the officially localized ones, but yeah, saying that is like saying, i dunno, that nothing comes close to dbz in anime.
I agree, they are very mainstream and I am well aware that there are other amazing titles in this genre but obviously as you mentioned most of them aren't translated and never get released outside Japan. I played a lot of really good fan translated ones as well, like Detective Conan & Kindaichi Case Files: Chance Encounter of 2 Great Detectives (you should try it) among others, but in my opinion AA and the Danganronpa games have really mastered the "detective work" aspects, can't really say the same for their plot however. Unsolved Crimes on the DS also does a good job.
You can go different girl routes, don't worry, although it isn't in the form of choices. At the first and only choice with Yamanami-san you can choose to obey or not to obey, obeying would bring you down her route, not obeying would bring you to be able to choose from all the other girls, except for Okita's route who is chosen from the chapter selection screen.
... Their first product in steam perhaps ... and using Kagura Games trick to get extra sales from Non-Porn side ... (it still good even without porn tough) Good Drawing, VA, BGM is all good ... Oh yeah, thank you for mentioning it ...
... VN again ... Should make SLG type instead ... yeah, good quality, setting and story. (one of the better quality compared other) But still not my cup if it's not RPG ...
If you want a RPG/SLG or really any gameplay elements with Visual Novel I can suggest games made by Alice Soft, Eushully and Unicorn-A. Most of it is untranslated, but there is a few that is in english. Of course there is also games by compile heart with the neptunia series and the like.
... RPG is still doable to translate ... SLG is a lot harder to translate (also a lot editing picture for menu icon) ... as far as I know Eushully only have Kamidori get decent translation ... Dunno the other ...
Well Sengoku Rance by Alice Soft is translated into english. I recommend that. Some of the other Rance games from Alicesoft got translated aswell but that's assuming you can tolerate Mangagamers "Incredible" translation work. Some Eushully games have UI translations. Unfortunately that's about it for those. Unicorn-A game's are mostly focused on Sengoku/Three Kingdoms lore. Nice SLGs personally, albeit untranslated and has a layer of complexity. Alot of kanji in that game.
try kamidori alchemy meister from eushully. im in love with that game tbh, i always recomend it when someone ask for hybrids VN, its not machine translated, it has a good translation.
There's not much SLG and RPG VN being localized because the engine that is being used to translate those are different from a normal VN it requires a lot more resources and really do you think that those VN's sold like crazy they are lucky to get 30% profit from those games. And also the market for VN is very specific and that's why a few of them used kickstarter as there's a saying in this market that "You don't need 1000 people to pay $1 each you just need 1 person to pay $1000.
Well duh, it's not meant to be a game in the first place. It's just reading, and quite a bit better experience than just reading novel PDFs on the net 😄
It's true, but imo there are pros and cons. A good VN is a different kind of experience. The subtle emotions in the voices that can never be fully transmitted through text alone, the music and even the art are all pros, even if a con is that it doesn't demand as much imagination.
... Sorry for being RPG maniac, but that's what I am ... I also don't mind if TLoTR or Harry P get VN (don't have to be Anime) ... (I like their story) also I already test this a bit ... it really is good compared any average VN ...
Ps. If you dont like VNS this one is not for you move on and find something else
