Thank You so very much for sharing this exciting shooter game, IGG-Games.com [Admin]~!
😎👍

FYI, for those who don't know, this game is based on the "Macross 7" anime series since it features the VF-17D "Nightmare" (Delta Wing) Veritech ["Robotech" terminology] Fighter (See here) in the first Steam promo video (See here)! Its lineage can be traced back to the VF-1A (Beige colored, standard Veritech fighter) from the original '80s "Macross" | "Robotech" series - Anyone else remember that hit US anime (Japanese anime based) trilogy series of which "Macross" comprised the first part while "Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross" and "Genesis Climber MOSPEADA" were respectively, the second and third parts? Some "Macross" purists spit on "Robotech" and call it a "Mishmash" of unrelated, different anime series but everyone else in the World loved and still enjoys it as a part of their childhood or second childhood! Some of us have even followed the Macross series since the original series (The first part of Robotech got us interested into "Macross" itself with its original storyline and also into various "Macross" games on the PlayStation and PC platforms).

The original VF-FX2 Japanese PlayStation .iso [ROM] (207MB) can be downloaded here (It's okay to post this here as this site doesn't have any Playstation games). You'll need a PSX emulator to mount and play this PSX game on your PC though (See here for EMUs). Enjoy~!
🙂

The original VF-FX Japanese PlayStation .iso [ROM] (209MB) can be downloaded here. Enjoy~!
🙂

The English translated, remastered version of VF-X2 was never officially released by Bandai (See user "mikezekely"'s post here). EmulatorGames dot net claims to have a direct download link for that version but nothing happens when you try to initiate the direct download on that site (See here).

I was fortunate not to have to watch the robotech crap since some local tv station imported some east asian broadcast of macross with subtitles. at least with the power rangers the US networks tried to produce some of the non-fight scenes, but I don't understand how anyone can stomach the robotech stuff.

You shouldn't be so quick to judge the Robotech franchise. IMHO, like the original "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross" and its various, subsequent sequel anime series, Robotech has its own multi-generational tale that Carl Macek crafted and tailored for the US audience who otherwise would not be exposed to the notions of variable mode, piloted mechs (Not the same as Transformers who, themselves, are sentient beings) and giant sized, alien humanoid adversaries. Also, Robotech helped to inspire the Mechwarrior franchise due to Robotech's popularity in the US.

Before Robotech in the early '80s, kids in the late '70s had anime series like "Star Blazers" to fill their minds with wonderment. Macross and Robotech should be enjoyed as separate anime series, each in their own right rather than be compared one against the other.

Great share.
Yeah I remember how those three different series were mashed into one for the west (Mospeada has my favourite song!)
They did the same with voltron which had one season from Golion and a second season from Dairugger.
Heck, they did the same with the power ranger series during the first 4 seasons, taking bits from different sentai shows and making it like they are upgrading the heroes.

Thank You so very much~!
😎👍

A full sized, "3800p x 2506" version is available for download here.

MOSPEADA was my second favorite part of Robotech after Macross. I wasn't a fan of the Voltron Lionbot series as it was always over whenever the "Blazing Sword" was formed and whatever robeast was soon dispatched. It was too repetitive with the "Voltron Lionbot" force never suffering any defeat (That's too unrealistic). At least the "Voltron Vehicle King" force suffered a defeat (One of a few) when one of the Galaxy Alliance's star bases was nearly destroyed by one of the Drule Empire's robeasts when it attacked while the "Voltron Vehicle King" was too far away fighting other robeasts to arrive back in time to save the day. Fortunately, the crew of the space station were able to destroy the robeast and chase away the Drule Forces that attacked them (See the full episode "Save The Space Station" here)!
😎

"Mighty Morphing Power Rangers" was after my time but my older nephew was crazy about all of its iterations just as he was with the Pokemon series. Though I have to admire how Haim Saban followed in Carl Macek's footsteps by creating new stories to fit the old, various, canned Japanese live-action ranger series into entirely "new", multiple series, each in its own right. I also remember "Saban's VR Troopers". Macek and Saban were marketing geniuses.

Damn. You're a real veteran in old-school hit anime. Great to know.
Wonder if you also know about the Spaceship Yamato series, which had a whole lot of manga and anime adaptations.

And thanks for the high resolution pic too (having trouble with the link though, but will figure it out).

If you're still having problems downloading from DevianART, then see the available full sized, high resolution (3800 x 2506) picture which I've re-posted here. Enjoy~!

If you re-read my earlier, previous post above or here, you can see a link to an article about "Star Blazers". In the linked article, it says that "Star Blazers is an American animated television series adaptation of the Japanese anime series Space Battleship Yamato I (1974), II (1978), and III (1980) ..."
😉

You have to be a [free] registered member of DeviantART and logged on, in order to download the full sized, high resolution version of the picture from the download link located on the lower right of the preview image in the DevianART page.

English not supported. Perhaps sometime in the future the dev can start with an English Interface translation (Easiest and least expensive). If a fan base develops and increases, perhaps English Subtitles can be added (Most difficult and most expensive). See my explanation about translation.

06/25/24 - Update:
Don't want to wait for a proper English Translation of a non-English supported game but want to play the game now?Uploaded Image
Uploaded ImageYou can try to use the freeware "LunaTranslator" combination text hooker (text grabber) and language translator application (GitHub page | Download page) to machine translate or AI translate the game's native text into English (Note: Machine translation is 1:1, word for word translation. Some ideas may get "lost in the translation". AI translation attempts to mimic a natural speaker's translation of a language into English (I haven't tried this method yet)).

Uploaded Image
See the verbose "How to" demo video posted by "Daiya" on YouTube (Note: From her dialogue in the video, Daiya seems to be a teenage girl, so try to bear with the "quirkiness" of her dialogue with the viewer [you]. She set LunaTranslator to use AI translation [See the improved English translated, purple text in the screenshot]).

In the past, I personally have used the AGTH (Anime Games Text Hooker application with the Atlas Japanese-English translator application) to try to play untranslated Japanese H-games with machine translation and just discovered this combination text hooker and translator application that supports AI translation (An improvement over machine translation) so, if you have any in-depth questions then it's best to visit the dev, "HIllya51"'s Q&A page on GitHub.

There is some dialog text in this game that is used to present the "story" behind this game, so LunaTranslator may be helpful for those who want to try to understand this game's story in order to try to get the "full" experience of playing this shumup!

No problemo! I'm glad to be of help!

Different people may have different opinions about the AI translated results. IMHO, AI translation is still better than 1:1, word for word, machine language translation. At least the AI translated sentences make more sense whereas in machine language translation, translated sentences many times come up as total nonsense. Of course, AI translation is still not yet totally at the same sophisticated level as translation performed by professional, paid linguists. Only time will tell whether this gap will close significantly when the second generation of AI is released.

In fact, it's vertical, mostly.
I watched gameplay two hours ago and it's a bit bare bones and held back on the visual effects side of things.
Compared to the tremendous fullscreen fireworks of Crimson Clover, this game is shallow.

See the "update" in my comment above. You can try to play this game in English via LunaTranslator using AI translation (For the dialog text, not the interface).

Still prefer an Ace Combat type game like Triangle Frontier like straight up Ace Combat is perfect for Macross and this game proves it

You can even Pilot the titular Macross in the game!

Like FUCK Harmony Gold really man we would've gotten a Modern AC Macross game if it weren't for those greedy fucks!

I expect something better than those PS3 games if I'm to play a Macross game on PC but nope, this is what they have to offer... pathetic if you ask me.

some devs seems not to realize that sprites and pixels are more complex but a true art
FPS for example making one with very smooth sprite frames its a true art to be amazed but also the most complicated achievement
instead they go for the lazy 3d development

To me, I'd rather have fully fledged 3D shooter games like we had on PS3 and PSP as modern hardware are definitely capable of more complicated Valkyrie animations and, you know, the famous "Itano Circus" will look bloody fancy with modern rendering technologies.
But instead, they choose to make a scroll shooter that only oldschool gamers know and care about... this move is completely out of touch if you ask me.

Instead of something like Macross 30 they think this is a game worth our fucking time? OK then.

I remember reading an article somewhere, that a US company called Harmony Gold attempted to steal the IP. Which then caused Big West to become EXTREMELY allergic to overseas market.

Consider us lucky to even have any sort of merch related to Macross sold outside Japan, but releasing a stupid game like this is straight up BS.

P.S.: Reading your comment again I found my reply to be completely out of context... but again, some fact for you.
