i love the game but the translation is frustrating! i know a bit of japanese and i can tell they translate it way off sometimes, is this a different translator than the one on steam? can someone tell me??
Sadely no , but you've got a joker to date , two detectives , a japenese sowrdman and a robin hood like boy ! Ps :The game is very long , & it's 8 year old
So... Why is a vn in need of i7 processor? i swear devs are just getting lazy with optimization at this point and just abusing the existence of superior specs to not waste money making the game run smoother.
Just because it's an i7 doesn't mean it's "superior". The i7-85550U is quad core CPU with a base frequency of 1.80GHz... which is pretty crappy. It is basically a low-budget CPU, the kind you'd find in laptops. Heck, you could easily find an i5 that would blow this one of the water and then some. When trying to see whether a component is good or not, merely having an "i7" stamped on the description doesn't mean jack, though for the manufacturer I guess it's an easy way to bloat the price and get a steal from less informed costumers... You need to look at the specs to know what you're looking for, and to get your moneys' worth.
U have no idea how much these ''crappy'' i7's cost where i live so while infact just an i5 is literally a month's salary so while i do agree with your statement the point here is still that a vn should not require such a cpu like seriously? u want me to have an i7 to read text and get an occational id assume very well animated HD CGI that i could also watch in a movie without the need of such cpu? Alright devs might aswell make it an i9.
My Ryzen 5 2600x 3.6Ghz costs somewhere around 150-200$ now and it's far better and cheaper than that crappy i7 they ask for in the system requirements. FYI Ryzen 5 models are the equivalent of Intel's i5 processors, so while my system can be considered "inferior" by some it still runs this game and many others without so much of a hiccup. Better even. My point is, don't take system requirements so literally. Just because it says it needs an i7 doesn't mean you cant play and enjoy it with "inferior" hardware - it's the specs that matter, not it's brand name.
That still doesn't really matter, as stated. You could even use a cheap ~$90 i3 CPU(Intel Core i3-9100F) for much better performance than that ~$400 i7 CPU (Also, this is a ninth gen CPU at i3 vs an 8th gen i7. There are magor differences with newer hardware that is cheaper than older hardware that is more expensive. The 7th gen i7 wasn't even that hih on the 8th gen scale.)
Long and medium haired also skinny guy, typical japanese stereotypical handsome men sadly not my type at all. Give me short haired or tousled up haired men pls! these men wont even make me feel attracted in the slightest bit.
meeeh >.< Japanese visual novels are usually so annoying and unoriginal, I enjoy European and American romances a lot better cuz they are trying to stand out and experiment with genres. Let me recommend something I recently played and enjoyed: Cardinal Cross, Winds of Change(it's a furry game but it's pretty cool I swear) and When the Night Comes(it's free and it's on itch io ) Also, soon there will be Red Embrace:Hollywood and it looks pretty cool, I recommend looking forward to it.
I'm excatly the opposite. I just find European and American characters so annoying and rude. Dunno why. The last game I really enjoyed was Steam prison and Collar x Malice. The best one from japanese games is Code realize. This game doesn't look good though, on that I totally agree. EDIT: On the second thought, I'm going to try it out.
agreed to these two being awesome mc's. also adding psychedelica of the ashen hawk mc. i love her a lot. also, although she's not a fighter like these oher mc's, i also liked the mc from ayakashi gohan, because she's standing up for what she wants and i adore her for having a strong will ( both versions of her do, in their own way)
Both of those games are PSVita exclusives though, which makes them inaccessible to a lot of people. In fact, a lot of the "highly acclaimed" otomes are Vita-only; 9Norn, Code Realize, Collar x Malice, Bad Apple Wars, etc. I only have a PC so I can't play any of them...
I'm sorry to hear that. I know how hard it is for PC only.. Anyways, I was just answering the question of "different heroines" the platform is irrelevant in this case. But did you try Nameless? I quite liked Eri, the heroine.
There are some exceptions but the vast majority of japanese otomes are like this. The main character is almost always either a Mary Sue or a passive doormat, which makes them shallow and one-dimensional right from the start. Not just that but the side-characters (ROs) are usually the same throughout every game; the childhood friend that has a crush on you from the start, the flirty and horndog kind of individual that doesn't let up, the pushy tsundere and the mysterious and distant character that eventually warms up to you. You play one, you've played them all. If you want something different you are better off looking for western releases, as those tend to deviate more often from the formula. Itch Io has some good examples if you know where to look:
When the Night Comes (WTNC)
One thousand and One Nights (1001 nights)
Ebon Light These are some of the games I've enjoyed, maybe you'll like them as well. They are still unfinished but at least they're free.
I played it for a while but ended up quitting because I dislike the main character. She's your typical Mary Sue; perfect-in-ever-way, cute, innocent, incredibly oblivious at times yet seems to possess enough intuition to rank her up there among the best detectives, has a "savior-complex", everything seems to go her way, everyone groveling at her feet and competing for her attention, etc. What annoyed me the most was during Jack's introductory chapter. You know those irksome, bubbly individuals that keep hounding and pestering you when you just want to be alone? The kind of people that see an introvert and instantly think said individual is depressed and needs to be "saved" (just because they don't socialize as much, don't have as many friends, etc), when in reality everything's fine and that's just the way they are? The MC is that bubbly individual. Annoying AF. I just can't relate to someone like that so I ended up ditching the game after that.
and thanks for the game

i disliked the feeling of hanged in the middle of the story.
You can find them on Itch Io for free. If you don't mind games with a male protagonist, the Bara genre may interest you as well.
I will check out One thousand and One Nights and Ebon Light as well.
the heroine is a man
Heroine = Female
Hero = Male
If the game is an otome then the main character is always a girl or woman.

I HATE girls like that, so annoying
Hakuoki too.
These are my recommendations for now.
It's not like this is a game sharing website, or anything...
