After playing every other tactical rpg from RadCodex Kingsvein feels like such a letdown
They got rid of all the features that made their games stand out All magic with cast time - useless unless used very early since a lot of magic happens at the next turn, AFTER the enemy's turn so good luck hitting anything with that shit
Compared to previous game's units everyone on your team has to act on your turn, then the enemy's ENTIRE team gets their turn - which I don't understand at all based on previous game's units each having their time to act, making a lot of slower builds viable
Sunder, a single ability that makes the combat a glorified meatgrinder - cast sunder on someone and gang up on them, this is a 100% guaranteed kill at least once a turn (Humanoid enemies often have Chisels, which are the class capable of using Sunder, and dear God do they abuse that shit considering they very often outnumber you)
NO FACING! - Seriously though, why would you remove the feature that DEFINES the combat system (apart from individual time to act?) In previous games if you faced your target and they had a shield your chances to hit would be severely reduced, but flanking (especially from the back) made hitting trivial, in this game - shield evasion makes no sense since the game is much harder to read
I'd post this on steam but I haven't bought the game, I own every other but this one is not it, don't recommend
