simple and chill game.. i listened to a whole album on repeat before finishing the first quest.. it takes like 1 hour if you go on 80km/h without overtaking any cars
I just watched the trailer on Steam. The road is literally completely straight 100% of the time. I don't see the point. Maybe I would have tried it if roads were more diverse, but... If you want a relaxing driving experience, you'd better play https://igg-games.com/euro-truck-simulator-2-495919181-free-download.html instead, or https://igg-games.com/american-truck-simulator-500212193-free-download.html. But if you want absolutely 2D, I feel like the old Road Rash games are better than this. Diverse landscapes, lots of corners, hills and jumps, incoming traffic, wild life... Road Rash 1 is from 1990 and it's incredibly more lively and interesting than this. lol Do you guys have any favorite 2D driving/racing game?
Hello! Thank you for your detailed opinion. Being a huge fan of driving games, I own a lot of them (not to say a huge number :-D), and I've even been making mods for a few since the 90s. As far as good 2D titles go, there are Super Cars, Skidmarks, Crazy Cars, Lotus Series, Jaguar XJ220, Micromachines, Chase HQ, and lately, I like doing a few games on the Ocean Drive Challenge Remastered, which reminds me strongly of the long moments I spent driving on Out Run. Now, of course, I prefer simulations that are much more precise in terms of realism. As for this Kazakh Drive, the Cross Country series (1991-1995) was at the time much more evolved than this game.
Aaahhh all of these titles remind me of good memories. Jaguar XJ220 had really cool music on Mega-CD. I even have the OST on my drive. ha ha Chase HQ was soooo fun. I played the Super Nes version back in the days, and discovered much later the arcade version on Mame emulator, which was even better. I wouldn't mind if they were indie games like this. I think there were a few other similar games like Lucky and Wild, and Special Criminal Investigation. Micromachines was really cool on Megadrive, but then I gave up on it to replace it with Re-Volt on PC! he he There was also Super Off Road on Super Nes which was fun, but so short! Oh wow, it's the first time ever I hear about the Cross Country games! I just watched a few youtube videos and I think it's quite impressive for such old games. Me too, I usually now play primarily simulations, mainly Assetto Corsa/Competizione, and Automobilista 2.
For me, it reminds me of much more than memories since I still have them in physical form. ;-) I have known a lot of them on Amiga 500, 1200 and CD-32. At the time, there were some really good car games, despite the financial investment in licensing car brands. The latest is Volvo The Game (PC) and is more of an advertising showcase rather than a game per se. Chase HQ II is the only game that gave me pain in my wrist from tensing up on my Speedking. We really believed in it. :-D I did not know Lucky & Wild. I'll quickly get it back for Mame to savor it. :-) For SCI, it's actually the arcade sequel to Chase HQ. Really nice for the time, but I much prefer its port for microcomputer, which took the name of Chase HQ II on some media. In my previous review, I also forgot about APB (Amstrad), as well as the Test Drive series (in its early days). Re-Volt, I have it on PlayStation, and I regularly play the soundtrack because it is so sublime when I work on the computer. In the same style, I really enjoyed Rollcage, Crash Team Racing, and the first 4 * 4 games on this console, without forgetting of course the Need for Speed series, after its preview on 3DO. Super Off Road, I have it on Amiga. On arcade, I put a hell of a lot of coins into the World Rally Championship and Neo Drift Out games when I was in high school, the difficulty was so tough. :-D The Cross Country series was mainly based on text commands, more than driving, but for the time the in-game interaction was bluffing. In fact, I know a lot of titles, even in the independent scene, because I have been a collector for more than 35 years, and that I have financed several projects of developers during 5 years, mainly on PC. I also wish to create, in the future, a museum in the ode of video games, where each person could try thousands of titles, whatever the medium, a bit like in an arcade room, but with experts to explain the evolution and history of this industry through the half-century of existence of our video game leisure. Assetto Corsa is one of the games that I co-funded (the first one only), and I'm really happy with what it has become, especially with the many maps and circuits provided by the community. I have not yet tested Automobilista, although it is in my library, as I have so many other sims going on, where I am making gigantic mods for my group. And it takes a tremendous amount of time. And then there are a lot of games, both solo and multiplayer, where I'm very active. The days are unfortunately too short. :-(

My friend asked me a question
"You can play garbage games for an hour. Do you brain broke or what?“
