I copied the contents of the crack folder over to the game folder but i get this error when i try boot the game "internal error 0x0A: Protection initialization failed!"

Yeah it might be a bit too old. might be able to get away with turning some graphics options down.

Has the game been cracked?

When I run, the "steam" client pops up and asks me to log in

I don't know what the problem is. Please help me

You need to copy the crack folder over to the game. Here is a tutorial kitty.
