It looks like Resident Evil but is actually a rogue-like top-down dungeon crawler, with a 3D cam where you can take a closer look at the enemies.
Minor complaint would be some rough edges, such as No specification that spell only recharge after returning (only vaguely "you have no energy") Menu has "Examine" but mostly says there's nothing to examine when selected. Inability to identify serums despite the merchant having an "Identify" option. Inability to read encyclepedia to identify items on your own in the safe house. Some serums are not recognized even if those of the same color had been identified before. A bit of repetitive storage and retrival of coins. (Coins itself takes an item slot, if you don't put them in storage at the safe house, all would be lost along with other items when you die.)
On the good part, the music is apt. Graphic-wise, the blockly model leaves much to be desired, but it replicates the retro feel nicely. Ability to adjust brightness is a godsend. Equipments leveling up after repeated usage gives old equip longer life span.
RE1 traditional roguelike with some Jill magic/fantasy elements thrown in. It's actually good if you're a fan of the genre. Though I wish the PS1-like low-res filter was optional, it just makes the game ugly imo and it doesn't match the hi-res 2D elements.
would probably be an improvement over realtime tank controls.
...and trying to shoot the dog at the same time...
I shiver to ever have to put up with that again.
