yeah if us white game devs put # whitefutureisfun we would be getting torn apart by those rainbow folks and getting called a racist but when it is the opposite they just say they are " treading new ground " or " empowering " lol devs like that make there whole identity and games centered around race and politics instead of focusing on making a enjoyable game
The cover is why I came here in the first place lol. I always like to do some background check on these folks to see what I can find.
To be clear, I don't mind black folks (brazilians) creating stuff solely for or based on their culture, but in the context of modern day brain rot it's likely that these people are more about DEI than representing their culture. Check out this tweet on X.
"The search for dignity is exactly what made us create a games studio focused on black people. The system is racist, but we were sure of what we were doing, just like Seu Jorge. "
These people complain about racism and then become racists themselves.
Thanks for clarifying. I was wondering about that.
I looked at some of the pictures on their social media pages and the skin tones were more on the brighter side, with some of the faces looking more hispanic than african. A was assuming they were catering to "their" african heritage or to the certain percentage of black brazilians. So in that sense, I was refering to black culture more than brazilian culture.
Either way it's weird. They are talking about their african heritage and bad stereo types and the first thing they show in this video is a rap battle on the subway,LOL.
Olá, vira-lata! I don’t have an account on this site, but I created one just to respond to you. I understand your perspective, but it's important to clarify some details about Brazil's demographics. While Brazil is indeed a diverse country with a large Latino/Hispanic population, it also has a significant percentage of black and mixed-race people. According to the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics), in 2022:
45.3% of the population identifies as parda (mixed race).
10.2% identify as black. The rest are predominantly white, along with small percentages of indigenous and Asian populations.
Brazil's history of slavery and the subsequent policy of miscegenation (mixing races) led to a diverse and racially mixed population. So, while some regions may appear more homogeneous, the country as a whole has a rich racial diversity.
It's also worth mentioning that Brazil doesn’t follow the same segregation model as some other countries, so the concept of race here can be different. The diversity is present in many forms, even though it may not be as visible in every region.
While I'm at it:
Imagine a game dev these days with the following tags on their company's social media profile. #CaucasianGame #WhiteGameDev #WhiteFutureIsFun

Instigators, parasites.
But I wont be the one in a hurry to tear it apart.
I have no problem with people making their own games.
Creating their own shit and feeding themselves.
That would be earned.
Thats up to themselves to decide who they are.
I think they speak Portuguese.
