Just a quick PSA: My friend did some research and this game isn't worth playing, instead of promised bugfixes and development the devs focused solely on the shitty story that force feeds you their agenda. Now they'll just do some minor fixes and be done with it, so a lot people are pissed off at them.
Im not whining, im giving people a fair warning. I honestly don't care what politics or agenda is in a game. What i care about is the fact that the devs promised a finished game, didn't deliver and instead focused on a feature nobody asked for. Why bother pirating that in the first place? I mean i won't stop you, but there are better ways to spend your time.
The devs are fucking idiots, they had a niche but golden concept. Instead of putting effort into that they concentrated everything on their shitty social justice story. Somehow the game runs worse than it did 6 months ago.
What an insanely great idea! Straddle your workers with a lifetime of debt so all they want to do is stay at work to work the debt off. Sure hope Elon Musk never plays this game or 20 years from now we will see people up in orbit taking apart old space-X rockets for him.
I have played several hours of this v1.0 - and I am disappointed.
"What are these design decisions...?" was my thought most of the time.
Firstly, as someone with an industrial and engineering background, most of Lynx Corp's decisions are bizarre to me. The huge debts are understandable, but the operational limitations are not; putting a limited-time shift once per day while a ship is still sitting in the bay is terrible efficiency, especially considering that the only revenue to pay off that debt is the worker's own productivity. This is just gameplay contrivance, made by devs who know jack-squat about industrial management. and this contrivance is to extend the gameplay time far beyond what the game can wholesomely offer.
Then the story. This presentation of this story sucks when compared to Deserts of Kharak, which is BBI's previous game. Little tiny portraits of characters next to what are just one-way comms (because the player character does not even fucking talk) is a major step-down. Furthermore, the portraits have facial expressions, but are limited to just a tiny portion of the screen. Heck, the text of the dialogue takes up more space than they do.
The dialogues also cannot be skipped, for some fucking reason. The one-way ones are the worst.
And the text... oh grud, fuck the text. Other games (especially the ones made with Unity, which this game is made with by the way) use text overlay scripts to produce text. The devs of this game think that producing text as textures is a good fucking idea. So now, the clarity of text depends on the resolution level and texture settings. If the player has to play the game at lower settings, the player can't read shit at all.
Definitely a sad EA story. The devs lost their only coder early on and were simply unable to put out any more content since the original launch. They tried to pad it out by making the game reeeally grindy and adding unskippable story cutscenes, but the end result is just sad.
one of the only games i immideatly bought on launch lol, its a great game but if doing a similar thing for a long time isnt something for you, this game isnt either
1050ti is a 6 years old low end gpu. Not the problem. The problem is it never had enough power to begin with. Just by looking at the screenshot and its lightning you could tell it would never run the game, even in 2016.
That's weird, I can play many newer games with higher FPS than Ship Breaker and I don't think the in-game scene has THAT many objects to begin with. Maybe it's the sheer amount of ship body physics calculation that's dragging my performance because my CPU is really old indeed.
Your CPU might indeed be holding you back; however the graphics are quite good even for a Unity game. Unity is often an easy to run engine but there's a load of effects.
Have you tried running with FSR or NIS?
Also I agree with Commenter123, your 1050ti is about half the speed of my 1070... and often I don't get amazing FPS in games with a 3700x.
Also with a 1050ti... 4gb is NOT enough to run any modern games... Unless you turn down your resolution and textures as your memory will fill fast and framebuffer will be taking a lot of space on it.
I haven't downloaded this yet since I'm not really into the playstyle, and yeah... I have to set resolution to 720p and turn off 90% of the effects for Cyberpunk 2077 in order to get 60 FPS. lol Didn't have enough money with me when buying parts and now I want to go back in time and kill myself. xD Good thing I'm still able to run Forza Horizon 5 at decent framerate (~45), though!
0.6 the tutorial cannot be finished, the radial menu doesn't work and doesn't let you continue. Tried skipping the tutorial which resulted in me not havin tethers or an equipment menu to unlock them
I am honestly amazed that the game is worse than it was in 0.3, I assume they fired everyone and replaced them with black women coders.
Do I really have to explain what a false positive is? The method used to crack games is similar to the method used to code malware! Anti-virus programs will detect the crack as a virus and delete it, even though it isn’t! :)
downloaded v0.4.0, stuck at loading (After debt screen). I restart the game but cant load profile(after pick oxygen drain setup back to main menu). is there any solution?
Change the language lines in user_config.ini (2 of them) to en Then delete from \data\LocDB the ru file. Run the game an it is in english with no screwy font spacing.
found a temporary fix, go into root directory > Data > LocDB and delete the file named ru, then renamed the one named en to ru. Font spacing is weird, but it's readable?
Wow in the videos the game looks way better then when you play it! I get to the 2nd ship after the 1st tutorial ship. The 2nd one is pressurized! I try to hit the "f" key to de-pressurize the ship like the directions say but the key doesn't work! The only way in is to let the ship explosively Depressurize! After that, Once again i try the door but it still doesn't work! I try different area's that ask for player to hit "f" key nothing! I quit the game! This game is too early alpha! They need to work a few more months before releasing a game that doesn't even work correctly! I found the game to be kinda boring just floating there to cut parts and put in the correct area, earn enough to upgrade your gear. I was so excited when i 1st saw this game but now i'm just really very disappointed! I'm so glad i didn't buy this!
You can't open the ship until after you complete the short tutorial (I think it asks you to use the sideways cutter thing.) After that, you can open the ship.
...You do realize that the game is early access right now, right? That means there are going to be bugs. As far as the depressurization thing, I have never run into any problems using the atmos controls and on bigger ships its possible to vent pressurized areas into depressurized areas, semi safely. The other thing sounds like the fuel line purge computer, which requires a key to work(found randomly on ships, early ships mostly dont need that step so its better to save the keys for later ships), which to be fair they could, and probably will, tutorialize better
It's very disappointing that Blackbird Interactive seems to be fond of Unity engine, I thought the optimization for Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak was bad enough, but this? Almost unplayable when you go inside a ship. Graphic options is next to non-existent for now, the only thing you can change is texture resolution, which does nothing improving frame rate. Control is meh, not too clunky but not anywhere near good, either. Was hyped for Homeworld 3, but after seeing this shit my hope is dropping like Hindenburg disaster.
This games runs perfectly on a 3 year old notebook that is also streaming. If you are having that many problems there are definitely other issues than the game.
hey mate, I had a hard time too, the buttons aren't properly being displayed so you like have to click a little bit more down and to the right from where the button actually is, hopefully you can discover it and play
If your game crashes as soon as you load into the salvage yard, or if the sound stops and then your game crashes, try setting your master audio to 0. For me it works perfectly, I dont have sound obviously but at least I can play at all :)
I read through the Devs and Publishers wikis and they are not owned by EA One of their founders was a former EA Canada Employe though Edit: I'm retardet you meant Early Acces oof
can anyone help? whenever i start a shift the game freezes after half a second and crashes and the logs say that it cant acces/copy some files at local appdata etc. i made it run as administrator and it still doesnt work
Sorry for my English, I found a tip : Open file "config.ini" with an editor and set the parameter "SkipSplashScreen" as true and save. Hope it works for you !
how did you make it run whenever i start a shift it runs for half a second then freezes and crashes and the logs say "04:06:34.307 [Core] [Error]: Unable to copy previous Unity log contents from "C:\Users"pc name"\AppData\LocalLow\Blackbird Interactive\Hardspace: Shipbreaker\Player.log": DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path "C:\Users"pc name"\AppData\LocalLow\Blackbird Interactive\Hardspace: Shipbreaker\Player.log".
i think its because it wants to go to "Hardspace:Shipbreaker" but you cant name a file with ":" cause my pc name and profile name in game are all wrote with normal letters that you can name a file with but when you try to name a file like example "123:" when you try to write ":" it says it doesnt allow special characters

Looks cool though, high ratings. Might buy when out of EA.
