A game where the only meaningful difference between itself and Contra is the sprite demonstrates that the developer has no ambition beyond reliving nostalgia with a different skin. 1 hit kill, weapon in a capsule, diagonal shooting, crouch, spinning jump. There's an added dash alright, but does it allow dashing up for a higher reach? No. Why bother?
The game loop at the moment feels just functional. Sfx does not pop, music is generic. Game resets your key binding after you quit, so you need to rebind each time you boot up the game. Very unpolished state.
