This game is like Disgaea but in fact, just unplayable because no one can play the game cracked, or maybe they're head is CRACKED from trying to play the game.
you can play the game.. as long your sound setting is not set higher than 48hz. Anything above it it will make the game crash right away. So adjust it and voila game will run
The game does work. It has to do with Sound setting. You can't have it higher than 48000HZ. Somehow the game crashes right away. Put it back to 16bit or 24 bit at 48000hz and you will be able to play the game
I'm sorry but like many people I play PS1 games through Beetle PSX HW and this video shows a clear difference in making Grandia HD Remaster a superior way to play. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTgyFTpXOCU
The HD Remaster is actually pretty good compared to its standard resolution on PS1. Even when you attempt a 4k upscale with Retroarch (Beetle PSX) the PC version is far superior. Game works fine for me, I can boot game game and start a brand new game. No issues with the upload and crack.
Wow no thanks. 4GB for a game with forced sprite upscaling. I hate those SuperSal/hq4x upscalers. And you can't disable it? Fuck that. More often than not they look like shit because it's entirely automated. You need an actual artist to redraw the sprites, not a gay ass algorithm. I'd rather play the PS1 version with the crappy voice acting.
Gaming tends to go in cycles I've noticed. We'll have a number of good games and then it'll be followed by a slew of bad and of course hopefully forgettable games.
The never really seem to look much different. Except sometimes adding things like widescreen is nice. But you can get a lot of smoothing effects and widescreen patching on an emu too.
I found some screenshots comparing the PC/ Switch version with 1997 Sega Saturn Grandia. Personally, I prefer the old pixel art, and I think I'll stick to this one. (Saturn is only in Japanese though, but PS1 was translated) Also, there's no option to turn off the sprite filtering. They actually resized all sprites and "improved" the 3D models and filtered them afterwards. Great. So, unlike Chrono Trigger, this time, we won't be able to fix this.
Would someone know how to change the language ? Already changed it in steam_api but the game stays in english. :V Edit : Okay just had to use the launcher I didn't see. All is fine ♥
i hate it when ps1 games get remasters. it just makes the game look like a mobile game. they just polish out the pixels, like acnes and wrinkles on instagram girls. they don't really look good.
After comparing the original on console and/or emulator + CRT filter, I can say I'll skip this one. It actually looks horrible compared to the original versions. It reminds me of the first release of Chrono Trigger on Steam... Sigh.
they needs some money without work really hard on story or etc, that's why they do that. Well maybe this is give us nostalgia too and i see no problem with this.
Remasters in general should be only used to port games on another platform (and maybe fixing bugs/glitches and performance issues). If you want to change the aesthetics, make a proper remake.
It does bring back the memories for me. It had a child like charm (not in a bad way either). I mean, the first part where they were doing lets pretend with wooden swords and kitchen pots. It was rather charming.
At that time I don't even know that there is an alternate ending because it's my first JRPG so I just cry when Nanami died and I can't save Jowy too. Deep down I felt like the game is shyt hoping for it to have a happy ending but the fact that I'm the one who screwed up halfway in the game Lol. Oh yeah English is not my first language so I play the game with a dictionary beside me. Haha.
You mean Grandia 2 Anniversary edition? the version that runs WORSE than the ps2 version? Yeah it's been out and it sucks. hopefully the HD update that they plan on giving it will make it run better. I'd settle for it running DECENTLY

I might still prefer the old pixel art(only because I'm nostalgic), but they sure did a good job.
