To those who can't launch it, you will need to update gothic 1 to be compatible with modern systems.
download this: https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/1723-gothic-systempack/
and install the following found in the zip to the gothic 1 directory.
install gothic1_playerkit-1.08k.exe
install Gothic1_PlayerKit-2.8.exe
install G1Classic-SystemPack-1.8.exe
