This is unusual....This game looks like a combination of God of War (Using a bit of concept from the God of War's gods for monster), Doom (The monsters has a bit scary concept like Doom), and other games consisted of gods combined into one game. Might try this out later myself to see if it's good
There's critical bug: In the dungeon: River god or something, at the very beginning, the player just stuck in there, not moving, after several attempts, I deleted the game.
You realize that theres thousands of mythologies and gods that exist outside of the monotheistic cults right? Celtic gods pre date romans in britain, which the game is based off of. The god of judeo/christians and Islam is just one among many mythologies, and isn't anything special. From Zeus to Odin, or Cernunnos and Morrigan, Mithras Horus and Mamaragan.. humanity has come up with a shit ton of creative gods. Then they got less creative and fun and just slapped together a singular monotheistic god, with no personality or flair. the christian god is no more real or special than the thousands that came before or after. And more of a brutal monster in the myths than most. It's just hilarious to me people might get offended a game features deities in it.. Also, the Norse and Romans were able to believe in their gods while also aknowledging the christian one, kind of douchey they can't do the same haha.
It's really easy to spot all the overzealous theists when you tell them that the concept of their god is stolen from a bunch of other gods and slapped together to more easily convert pagans.
This was a good read. I personally am not a religious person, I take all religions (past and current) as pure mythology. And let me say, there are lots of interesting creatures and situations in every religion, past and current. I was raised as a catholic apostolic roman or whatever you call it. They didn't just have Jesus and God, there were lots of Saints with interesting stories all around the globe. The main church would send investigators to study rumors and follow hints about any paranormal activity, and then they would argue if it was a "divine intervention" or anything of the sort. This gave birth to LOTs of Saints (or different manifestations of Virgin Mary all over the world) each with decent storyline. Even the most straightforward one, The Miracle of the Sun, is an interesting read. There are so many good stories and mythology fuel for games to catch on.
You can't be a spiritual person without believing in something. And, you don't pick a belief like you pick clothes. You pick a belief for a reason. Also, some believes are crap. It is different to pick a religion. You can believe and stay away of any religion or cult. In the case of the Romans, they were polytheists however, they believe in some main god, so conceptually, there is little different with monotheism. In opposite, monotheists expand the religion to "branches" (angels, saints, priests, a specific place).
I believe redheads are hotter than blondes, I believe big mega preachers who constantly bash gays are probably closeted themselves, I believe good food requires fresh ingredients. I can believe in all sorts of things, the only difference is that none of the things I believe have anything to do with my religion. You can't choose what you believe, you can only choose to delude yourself, to remain ignorant, or you can choose not to put aside your intelligence. Either you believe or you don't, if you aren't convinced of something, you certainly can't then choose to believe in that thing. You can say you believe in something, but if you aren't convinced of it then that isn't true. An atheist can't simply choose to believe just as a straight person can't choose to be gay. Also, you can absolutely be spiritual without religion, what an absurd statement. Spiritual principles like honesty, open-mindedness, willingness require no belief in any deity to follow. I believe in having integrity, doing what's right even when nobody is looking, is one of the most important values a person can have. I wasn't told you believe this, nor was I threatened with any punishment for not believing it. Lastly, I'd suggest a class at your local JC/CC to correct a bit about that amazing oversimplification of the myths of ancient people.
I believe in hookers, yachts, and blow. You are saying I can't be spiritual? I fucking hate people. No one knows what is real and what is not real. I think I'll find that out when I die, or is reality in my head? Religion is a pointless argument made between people that want to strengthen what they believe in and fuck up other peoples beliefs. Believe what you will. Fuck anyone who goes against you and walk a pure, decent, and straight path. just fucking be nice to people. shit..
To answer your "Really?" question: Yes, they did. Now I am not a expert on Norse mythology so let's pass on that. But Romans often integrate foreign gods into their own religious system. They did not demand loyalty to one single god, but they DID demand loyalty to the state, and this was expected to be demonstrated through participating in events that celebrate the state throughout the year. The reason that there was a crackdown on christians is that they refused to do so and also refused to offer incense to the Roman emperor, which was seen as the embodiment of the state. So yeah, the Romans cracked down HARD on them, not because of the different god stuff but because of treason stuff.
You can fool yourself with that nonsense, but that won't make it a historical fact. No surprise though, since you nutbags legitimize even coliseums and satanism.
It stops being a "shitty opinion" the moment you correctly explain your point of view. We have too many people saying things are good or trash without context as to why they are like that. If you don't like to read into people's opinion or don't care about others at all, then don't read. But I'm always interested in knowing why people think a certain something is good or bad.
That's subjective dude. Some people just want to live in their own world and live the way they want, and honestly I don't see a problem with it so long as you don't hurt others. Being open to shit doesn't fix or make things better though. For example, I tried to be open, at the least accepting, of that bronie shit, but it just disgusts me way too much man that I can't stand people that like it. Everyone has their own beliefs and views though. We all see the world differently.
Sounds like you weren't very open to it then. So fuck that, people are increasingly living in their own fantasy worlds with their own facts. It's a problem, it shouldn't be ignored.
That's how it's been for a long time. I don't know if you realize but everyone lives different lives than you. Some people just can't be open to shit and that's fine so long as it doesn't turn into extremist shit. Honestly, what you describe kinda sounds like a... idk a dictatorship. Everyone has to think and accept the way you see the world. Some people gotta see the world a certain way to get through it though. You don't care about that though. You care about accepting everything. If everything is dog shit, as long as we accept it then we'll be okay, right?
We are here for the games and judge the game for its content, not if it offends you because god almighty yada yada. If you don't like it and not because of mechanical or game design issues, please fuck off and stop trying to preach whatever.
