cliche swordfighter bandana hero with humble beginnings: check cliche magic girl who lives with grandpa, and gets kidnapped: check Janky AF combat: check First item is a Potion, and first weapon is a Sword: check quests that send you in circles just to fill time: check yaaaap it's another jrpg clone, except now with "real time" combat where your sword somehow extends three tiles despite the hero only taking one. First quest be like: "Get key from this dude", "I lost the key on the second floor and can't get it cuz npc", "Thanks for finding the key but I have a spare key. you keep that key." Start the game with some EXCITEMENT damnit. Don't make people wait an hour to fight in an 8-10 hour adventure.

All I see in these RPGMaker screenshots are line grids. This square has this thing. the one next to it has a different thing. These 12 squares are used for stairs. Those few squares make a spot that x npc is allowed to move on. It's all four-directional controls moving square to square. Even the original Zelda on NES gave you a lot more freedom of movement than this crud. You can mimic all the items, environments, and enemies in Zelda, but without proper Zelda-like movement, it's just another RPGMaker dumpster bucket
