So if you find my "guide" incomprehensive, check him out.
Oy just found a fix for this. Head to the "data" folder inside the Forts one, and inside there should be a "packs" folder. And inside the "packs" folder there is a _halloween.pack. just remove it and it should be fine
I found the problem! There is a windows batch file called nickchange which you have to use and if that is not it then go into steam_emu and manually change the IGGGames username to yours(I did both at the same time so I don't know which one did it)

Go in the Forts folder X:\Games-CG\Forts.v1.5 then scroll down till you find steam_emu.ini do a right and open it with notepad or the preinstalled app editor. Scroll down to UserName and delete IGGGAMES, then change your name to steam_emu.ini

You gotta copy the files from the forts main directory except the forts.exe and copy them into Forts.v2019_01_11a/fixed_exe_v2019_01_11a idk if you can play campaign but skirmish seems to be working
I just found out the Ai disables, i tried fixing at least the campaing with older game files but then the console spams errors and makes the game unplayable, if any of you got ideas hmu
I can't get this to work. I followed a lot of the comments below and found none of them solve the issue where the game detects it's a pirated copy. Is there a more updated guide to remove or a workaround for the piracy detection?
to fix authentication error, try using this method.
go to Forts.v2019.06.20a\Forts.v2019_01_11a\steam_emus\SSE_v1.4.3 double clcik SmartSteamEmu.ini go down to find "StartIn = ", delete the "#" in front, then add the location of your "forts.exe" behind the "StartIn = " (i show you mine after edit, it should look like this, StartIn = D:\Downloads\Forts.v2019.06.20a.Inclu.DLC\Forts.v2019.06.20a) go down a little bit to "SteamClientPath = " to add location of your "SmartSteamEmu.dll" (i show you mine after edit, it should look like this, SteamClientPath = D:\Downloads\Forts.v2019.06.20a.Inclu.DLC\Forts.v2019.06.20a\Forts.v2019_01_11a\steam_emus\SSE_v1.4.3\SmartSteamEmu.dll) then go down again to find "Offline = 0", change "0" to "1" save file. (make a backup of original if you want) then launch the game from "SmartSteamLoader.exe" which can be found at same location as the ".ini" file. hope it works :) cheers **Edit: one more step, find "AppId = ", change the number to "0".

Its there and works but i cant play because game shuts down after 2-3 minutes, so i cant enjoy the game and there is no steamemu.ini after dlc update so old solution is not working :(
Did you download an exe file? When opening the exe, did you get a rar file, or am I missing something? If the above is true, you downloaded an ad, make sure you get the correct file.
To fix the verification error do the following (seems to have worked for me so far):
Delete the following files: — Forts.exe.BAK — IGG-GAMES.COM.url — PCGAMESTORRENTS.COM.url — README.txt
Change the contents of the ``steam_emu.ini´´ file by adding/removing some random stuff.
In the same file change the values for the following lines: — UserName=IGGGAMES´´ to something else. — Overlays=1´´ to 0. — ``Offline=0´´ to 1. And then after you check the game out and you really like it, BUY IT!
Doesn't work for the new update, or otherwise i'm blind, but there's no steam_emu, only steam_emus, and it's a folder with some profiles in it, there's no .bak file either

no, as you might see below people had authentication error, as crack wasn't 100% effective. his thing actually helps, as I had the same problem, I simply changed a thing there and here. (language and username)
I don't know about you but it seems that the Crack isn't fully fixed. Surprising how no cracker managed to remove the Anti-Piracy protection, even though some of them already cracked Denuvo games. (i was talking to IGG in the first sentence.)
Edit: just to clarify, the current crack was done improperly. It is no problem with the game and I have advance knowledge of coding in the game engine used by forts. Simple, I know how to crack games like this. You just use smartsteamemu because it searches for steam and then auth error.

actually, now when a program is already made, you need to do more words then math. i also got a 97 in math this quarter for the 9th grade (14-15 years old) and a 100% in BBT (Broad Based Technology) but don't think i am good at everything because i got a 61% in art :P for something like crack you just remove line A and modify line B. it is even easier when literally all you have to do is install 1 program and configure a single .ini file. I did the same thing in an older version pre-tons of guns, but i have never seen a crack online using the same method. yea i dont know about the rest of you but the game plays great but adding any mods to the current version i got here today, the mods seem to crash the game! longest i can play is about 5 min and then it crashes! So i'm getting rid of all mods! wasted my whole day trying to get them working.the ones i got were 2 different battleships map mods, tanya's mod, bfg complete pack mod, and BFG "Big F**KING GUN Mod. Maybe in the future when they can make the mods more stable as to not crash the game i'll try again but for now i'm done!
ugh i think i spoke too soon! when i activate the mods it crashes my game after a few seconds game isnt playable using mods! Now extract the mod zip file and make sure u click Extract Here and not Extract to [file name]. Then go into the Cracked Forts file that I assume u have extracted to even play it in the first place. My example will be in the Downloads folder. Go into Forts folder and navigate to the mods folder (Your Forts folder(unzipped)/Forts/data/mods), and paste the extracted Tanya's mod folder into the mods folder. (U can now rename the Tanya's mod folder to anything that u wish and please take note of what u renamed it to) Now navigate into the db folder (Your Forts folder(unzipped)/Forts/data/db) and open the mods.lua file with any text editing program. Now under AllMods, scroll down until u see the line ['zerogravity'] = true, Add a new line (do not overwrite that line) ['What u named the Tanya's Mod folder earlier'] = true, as I named my folder tanya-mod the line I should add will be ['tanya-mod'] = true, Do the same under MapMods and save the file. If u have done everything correctly u should be able to play with the mod :)

Ok so... u have to download the mod file from steam workshop. Here is the Tanya's mod link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1492181905 , and then paste that link into any steam workshop file downloader, this works for me: http://steamworkshop.download/download/view/1438584334 , paste the Tanya's mod link into the box and click download. You should be able to see a download link, click it and it will start downloading. (This is only for how to get the mod file)

Well I only tested Tanya's Mod, Indef Weapons and Devices Mod. I could not get the What Are Tiers mod to show up in the Mods List soo ye. Not all mods work and Im guessing it because the mods don't work in the latest version on Forts.
I did manage to get Tanya's Mod and the 2 Indefinite Upgrades mods working on this cracked version of Forts. (Had to search all the files for 2 hours lol) For some reason What Are Tiers? mod doesn't work for me which is weird but ok then.
I don't get how to make multiplayer work, I open steam, open the game, i can see people playing it on the shift tab but i cant invite them to games or join onlines ones, the lobby doesn't seem to work either, do i have to create a lan game and make them connect throught hamachi or something like that?
