I'm surprised no one has done this style of gameplay in a long time. How many of you remember Soccer kid (Amiga) or Marko's magic football (Genesis)

Oh yes,i barely remember, a friend of mine(was it more than now 35 years ago?),
had it on his amiga(not sure 2000? the one with hard drive),hihihihi.
Amiga was the shyt back then,so clear and crisp graphics+sound,
oh yeah the sound(music, too) was awesome at that time.
I remember he was the one showing off with the Game Syndicate
(Bullfrog,Peter Molyneux was just a genius).
And i was like :"Damn i want that, too",i bought a Amiga 500+(with extra ram),
only to find out "GURU Meditation",do you remember Guru?hahahahah.
For those, who dont : it meant Virus Detected! Cuz i tried to play a pirated Amiga-Game,yeah i was early into it laughs
Of course not all of them,Turrican,R/X-Type ,etc.,was damn fun.
But only for short time cuz somehow i found my way to PC(also through a friend,
who showed me the rope, means he taught me how to use it,gave me MS-DOS Book, and Anti-Virus-Prog called F-Prot(1 floppy disk, hahahaha).
Thx for bringing it up,is nice to reminiscent.🤗👍😎

Damn, you also brought up a lot of memories in me.

Ah syndicate. While the first one was great and easy to run, I was so impressed with its sequel's graphics when I saw it in a magazine. I was like, 'what do I need to be able to run that?' Those explosions and buildings collapsing!

GURU meditation. Ah yes, I recall a lot of games having anti-piracy measures in them. Some right at the beginning, some at a certain point within the game. It's been so long though so can't recall clearly.

Turrican was addicting. Having so many abilities: to roll and drop bombs and use a grappling hook (snes version)!

When i got used to running commands on DOS as a kid, It felt like such an achievement. But getting games was hard in a third-world country. But there was always that 'friend' who got access to floppy discs containing games. Thankfully, now we have the net; abandonware games is a great repository and sometimes i just browse through for the nostalgia. Also grateful for companies like nightdive in remastering these classics, but we have only scrapped the tip of the heap!

Oh Yes Syndicate War,i remember, damn Nostalgia
😂 Same for me,just browsed amiga games. And i agree, learning the commands + editing the executing files, you know, like config.sys and autoexec.bat.Stuff like making Drivers ram persistent as a command in that files, soundcard DNA settings etc etc.But i had to say,it helped to understand at least the rudimentary Structures and Architecture. And there was the jumper settings, manuelly setting them.
As you said felt like big Achievements, hahaha. But at that time,it was not
easy to get all pc games. You needed Game-Magazines(international) just to know about Games you, maybe, just maybe can get.😆👍

PS:I am guessing,You know the Remake of Syndicate, right?

Satellite Reign(i liked this remake alot at that time)

Yes, I know about satellite reign. Unfortunately, I put off playing it for a long time (due to so many other games to finish). I think it's finally time I try this game out. Thanks for reminding me about this one.
