there's a lot of reasons why people may say it doesnt work...some cracks are faulty and dont work for everyone for example i dont know about this game in particular just saying in general
In case anyone is in doubt After investigating for a while i found out that this is the best version, it has the most bugfixes, better graphics (including some 3D models), new controls that work better with a keyboard and the best sound quality The only reason people don't like it is because: 1- It lacks some videos from the PS1 version (wich is hypocrital since everyone recommends the GBA version due to being the 2nd least buggy version and that one obviously lacks the videos) 2- The sprites look "wierd" wich i suspect is just nostalgia talking 3- Auto saving making the game too "easy" (like just don't use it ffs your manual saves are stored separately anyway) 4- Has SOME censorship (wich is still one of the versions with the least censorship)
I mean there are some mods that make this version shine over the others. if you are a purist snes is the best choice. if you decide to apply mods or patches, imo it's the steam version then the gba one.
Or just find another way. Or come up with the $16 and buy it. This comment section should only be filled with comments from 4 years ago when this was first dropped. New comments saying the links are dead is bullshit. Find another way or pay for it.
Or you could not ask like a piece of shit. You managed to find this site, how bout you stop being a dumb piece of shit and use your brain to find another way. If you wan't the easy way, come up with $16 and just pay for it.
For anyone wondering why the game isn't running when you hit play: You need to copy the 3 files in the CODEX folder from the .iso and put them in the folder with the game .exe
This is arguably the worst version of FFVI. Ugly UI, jarringly fuzzy sprites, and a retranslated script that lost a lot of the charm the Woolsey version had. if I had to recommend a version, I'd either go with the original SNES release or the PSX version. Maybe the GBA version if you could get patches to fix that version's issues.
Might want to look into the mods that have been developed for this version if you haven't already (as it's been a full year since your post). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFJcwiAL9KA
If you open the vid from Youtube itself, rather than straight from here, there's a link in the video description where you can download the mods. Edit: Here's the link (I hope I'm not violating any policy of IGG-Games by posting links. If so, I apologize). https://www.moddb.com/mods/final-fantasy-vi-a-world-reborn
Even though I grew up playing the SNES version, I'd go with the GBA version personally... the auto-battle feature comes in handy if you're grinding all your espers.
I'm having some really bad screen tearing issues with this. At first, it seems fine, but when the town cutscene starts in the intro, it starts flashing black and completely cuts out sprites and props. Unless I can fix this, the game is unplayable for me.
For anyone looking for the save file directory, it is located in C:\Users**\AppData\Roaming\Steam\CODEX\382900. The ** of course is the name of the user account on your pc.
Hi guys I was wondering if i could get a little help with something. I downloaded FF6 from you guys http://igg-games.com/final-fantasy-vi-free-download.html and installed it and it runs and plays fine except that I have no sound from it. Ive never had this problem with any other games ive got from your site and ive gone through all the troubleshooting options i could think of and nothing worked. Im open to ideas and advice anything, maybe this has happened to other people maybe its an issue with this game i dont know.
Some basic solutions: 1- With the game open, push Windows button, then click your minimized game to re-open at your screen. 2- Right Click at your game, properties, compatibility, "execute this program with compatilibility mode" (Windows XP) any service pack, then check the "run as ADM" and the above one check options. 3- In game, try to simple rising your volume UP, some games auto raises it down at game start. Good luck!
I tried all of that along with updating/removing/restoring all forms of my audio drivers. For some reason its as if the game produces no sound at all on my pc. I know this must be a windows 10 problem as ive used the same downloaded file on my windows 8 laptop and it runs with sound just fine. Im at a total loss as to what the problem is.
I don't see any save files for FFVI in the Documents folder. According to a Steam thread, the saves are stored in the same way as the iOS version except it's in the Steam folder. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YourSteamID\382900\local and C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YourSteamID\382900\remot I don't have a steam folder but I still have save files somewhere, I just can't find them. And they don't seem to be in the Documents folder.
Just so you know instead of doing a fresh install you can just right click on the main directory and just move the entire folder. No need to install everything again.
google drive has issues its not just THIS file they are doing an emergency maintanence to fix it (whatever it is that's causing it is effecting google drives main server)
