Sorry for the delay: https://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasypixelremaster https://discord.gg/bSnpVBV There's a modding community growing up around these games, fixing just about everything wrong with them. The discord link is a much better way to go as they have improvements to UI, Font, Difficulty, etc plus anything posted to Nexus. This is getting soooo confusing... What the HELL is the "ultimate" version of the first Final Fantasy games? I hear lots of people saying GBA, but I don't like the sound of the GBA, and the screen was too little... Maybe PSP version is still the best of all? (I mean the "20th anniversary edition") Edit : OK, what do you think of my list of the best versions of the first Final Fantasy games? (with 2nd and 3rd choices too. Also, I know FF5/6 Pixel Remasters are not released yet, but I assume they'll be the best version.) => FINAL FANTASY 1 : PSP (2nd : PC PIXEL REMASTER / 3rd : GBA) FINAL FANTASY 2 : PSP (2nd : PC PIXEL REMASTER / 3rd : GBA) FINAL FANTASY 3 : PC PIXEL REMASTER (2nd : PSP or NINTENDO DS (in 3D)) FINAL FANTASY 4 : PSP The Complete Collection (2nd : PC PIXEL REMASTER / 3rd : GBA) FINAL FANTASY 5 : PC PIXEL REMASTER (2nd : SUPER NES / 3rd : GBA) FINAL FANTASY 6 : PC PIXEL REMASTER (2nd : SUPER NES / 3rd : GBA)
I'd argue that the 3D Remakes of 3 and 4 are pretty worthy competitors. The remasters of 5 and 6 for PC originally via the mobile ports are definitely the trashiest versions of those games (though 5 at least has mods to make it tolerable), so I'm hoping the pixel remasters for PC will not be taking those cues. But yeah, for 4 at the very least I'd put the 3D remake up there as pretty damn awesome and a nice make up for a (in my personal opinion) terrible followup with "After Years"
I remember playing this in a emulator and i lost the data due some bug or something. The game also has a bug were exiting from meniu brings intro a corupted save data. Never play on a emulator of the original game NEVER.
Use to own a gameboy version of this - had FF 1 and 2, i think something else but probably not. Never beat the full game but somehow figured out where the end boss was without knowledge using the endgame save that was on it from Gamestop XD ( also found omega and could not for the life of me beat them. Not sure what you get for beating the secret boss- what i found out was i guess the secret one )
I'm 100% stuck on the character naming screen, I click to name the character but, I just can't type anything. Edit: I can use sugested names but I can't name my characters, and the game just wont go fullscreen even though I set it on options.
A site mod really needs to PIN Hunter's comment to the top. The file has 3 fixes, one for each PR game. I tried it out and can now type in my own names. The games (primarily 1 and 3) are mildly broken without this. Random names suck.
Cool. Thanks for letting me know. I didn't realize someone would rollout a modding platform so soon. EDIT: great program. Running my game at 1.53 speed virtually eliminated the micro-stutter in borderless window mode. Looking pretty smooth. I'd of forced vsync, but integrated poop-cards can't do that correctly.
So tired of this FF franchise. Can't we just tear it down and burn it already? Let's release an updated version of Skyrim first, to match today's graphics!
I want to treat this with all the reverence and gravitas these classics deserve, but LOL. These are direct to PC releases. No Switch. I feel like SE is trolling the pirates.
As a side note, the team that enabled modding of the previous FF VI have already begun dissecting these games to... shrug... make them almost as good as the PSP versions? https://youtu.be/SmP942Q8CkU
I'm pretty sure lots of people out there use 32bit CPU or old hardware, it's sad but technology can be expensive if you don't live in developed countries... (not saying is this guy's case though cause I don't know him.)
Just because it has pixelated visual assets doesn't mean it can run on hardware tech that is around twenty years old. Computer science and electronic engineering are more complicated than you would think. For one, trying to mash visual assets of different resolution and have them all display at the same time without glitches is a pain in the ass without hardware that can handle multiple processes.
I suggest you should try wireless xbox one controller, love the analog position design. ds4 has attached battery, if the battery exhausted, its expensive to repair, not like xbox controller, they use AA battery..
Restart the game and don't change to fullscreen, then you have a new option q to suggest the names. After this you can change to full screen without issues ;)
It's a little bit dumb to complain on a crack site ... If you don't want to play the games don't. But don't complain on a site you can get the games for free. Personally, I'm only here to try them and see if it worth my money to buy them later.
I have played it for a few minutes and it's actually pretty cool. I enjoy old school pixelated graphics complete with an orchestral soundtrack. It is so much better than those awful Android ports.
Seems like they are tarnishing some good old games for some quick cash grab. At least put some effort. Why would I play this game on pc when I can play this on emulator? Even the psp final fantasy ports looks nicer than this
they're already the psp version for a perfect HD animation and graphics that you can transform into full HD on emulator, the pixel remaster is only for the fans who wants to play the pure original games without the modification done on the 3 other remastered ones. It's literally just the original experience with better graphics (like ppl wanted for FF7 originally). If you don't want to play it, just don't. Not everybody will like.
Checked it, did not like the art style... Seems like they were trying to copy Deep Sky Derelicts with that comic book vibe, but DSD has better art style and gameplay.
nah, slay the spire is a game for retards who get entertained easily doing the exact same thing over and over and over again ad infinitum... Plus shitty graphics.
Yeah, it seems like the game freezes up when you click to enter a name. Won't let me type or backtrack or anything. But if you do the pre-made names, it'll continue just fine.
square sure are lazy asses they have enough fucking money to make all those games into something like octopath traveler with a different perspective and animated enemies
Yeah you're right. God, people really sure didn't know how to do a proper remake of a game from 1987. I mean, they only made the graphics look more sophisticated like an enhanced SNES release, added some FMV cutscenes, released it in a collection of the first 2 games for PS1...then added some stuff for it for the GBA, then did some more enhancing so that it looked nice on PSP and later mobile. But yeah, man does it look worse than games from something like RPG Maker XP/VX/MV/MZ...makers that were released at least 5+ years after this remake had happened in 2002 (but it'd be completely on par with/better than an RPG Maker 2000/2003 game, not even close to "worse").
To be fair though, that actually makes sense with DQ3, given aside from the DWIII NES release and slightly more colorful GBC release, Dragon Quest III never got a proper remake in the US. There was the very lovely SNES version which had some fan translated roms, but it was never released in the US. Not to mention, there's already been the precedent set with those games with 4-6 also getting better remakes on the DS...so if anything I'd be surprised if all of 1-3 didn't get similar or better treatment. Whereas for the most part, the first 6 FF games haven't been as lucky. 1 and 2 had semi-remakes on the PS1 (meaning it went from NES style to enhanced SNES style with some perks), and 5 and 6 got basically glorified remasters on every console they've been released on. Some added FMVs, some made the sprites ugly or (in 6's case) made things too colorful and kinda made the overall theme diluted, and every release since has just remastered those versions a bit more. The only exceptions have been 3 and 4 (and of course 7 with all the love it gets), which had some great full 3D remakes that I still enjoy, and I wish the other games in that set would get the same treatment...though honestly I'd love to see 6 in Octopath's style far more. Could you imagine 6's story with Octopath's graphics style? God, it'd be so perfect. But yes, they can...but it doesn't mean they will, as much as I'd love them to. They're more likely to remake the entire Dragon Quest series before they do it with their early FF games, since they're too busy with FF7 Remake and 16, and if anything their next remake project will probably be something like FF8 or 9.
Change is coming...
