This game was released not long ago under a different name, with some slight changes... The difficulty was modded a bit, I think they added the heal gauge for in between save checkpoints, changed the map, added a little story.. But it's still a hot steaming pile of garbage. They tried, though, and it shows. This version is a lot more polished. And to clarify on the whole souls-like thing.. My above explanation kind of clarifies that.. Checkpoint/limited heal with enemy respawns when you die or use a checkpoint.. The game isn't hard though, the only thing that makes it hard is the terrible enemy AI/being outnumbered at times with perched ranged attackers you have to FIGHT to get to.. It's not challenging, it's just annoying. Combat reminds me of a knockoff melee Bulletstorm with boring enemies and no environmental Mortal Kombat style kills or sliding.
MetaCritic and Steam rating are from time when game was in EARLY ACCESS. Its OLD STYLE, gameplay like Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, from what I read.
Give it a shot. I've been playing for some days and i like it so far. The beggining is a little rough, but after you learn some skills, it improves a lot.
Oh I've played it before. Many years ago. It hasn't aged well in every regard but the physics are still as great as ever. Edit: Oh right, you gave it a shot. Sorry, I half misunderstood. Glad you like it. You can see how Dishonored came to be!
"souls-like melee combat in first person perspective..." So... no Souls-Like at all... EDIT: Especialy after watching the trailer. What the fuck is "Souls-Like" about the combat? Also, what IS "Souls-Like Combat"? o.O I mean, the game looks really nice and all... but I thought "Souls-Like" is a combination of specific mechanics. Is Souls-Like Combat slow and methodic? Does "Monster Hunter" have Souls-Like Combat?
It's written "souls-like/RPG character progression", it's not the combat they were talking about (unless they changed the description) Edit: my bad, I did not read everything before talking, there's indeed "souls-like melee combat" written But if I had to describe "souls-like combats", I'd definitely say MH fits the same definition But yeah, Souls-like is usually more an overall way of designing a game, not just the combat
Had no problems with the game other than that i think it didnt record all the game audio. Anyways heres the vid from my channel enjoy!
Thank you for sharing.
