There's too many patch, after the release of the dark fog there's been 4 hotfix, so it would be better to wait for more "stable" version, whenever that is
Good game! The Dark Fog is shit/pointless. I kind of regret waiting for it's release to replay the game and will play with it off the next time I get an itch for this. PS: Factorio is better
Hello! It says on the front page that Dyson Sphere Project was recently updated, but all the links still point to the previous version downloads instead of the latest version (0.9.24.11182). Will the most recent version be uploaded soon? Thank you!

Dose anyone know how to update? I downloaded the update patch and browe the correct path. But its still tell me not correct path and my game version is seem to be 0.6.17.5831 (i downloaded in HERE) and the update tools seem to update for 0.6.17.5972 not 5831.
Released new update on Steam Dyson Sphere Program Patch Notes 0.6.17.6112 Hi engineers, With the coming of April, we are about to enter the rhythm of medium / large scale content development, and a new round of difficulties, and an intensive development schedule. It will take a lot of time, but we will forecast the content of the upcoming patch earlier to facilitate you to plan and prepare in advance. For example - the quick copy of the sorters is on its way. Let's see the update log today: [Version 0.6.17.6112] Features: Added system framework of item drop/pick up Optimized the Assembler GPU Rendering cost by adding the LOD1 and LOD2 to rendering detail levels Optimized the models of logistics drones and vessels and the rendering costs on GPU Changes: You won't loss your items due to "Inventory is full" anymore. Instead, they will fall on the ground or float in the space! Bugfix: Fixed a bug that mecha walking may be interrupted when pressing S from the perspective of God in the Construction Mode Fixed the bug that the customized celestial bodies' names may not be updated in the production statistics panel Fixed a bug that a facility may be built in the wrong place because of the failure of the calculating of building placement distance Fixed the bug that it may report an error when the Logistics Station is dismantled
damn im addicted to this game now 30 hours of total gameplay (still havent leave my 1st solar system) it just like factorio but in 3D with universe to explore i like when you can zoom out of the planet and see the progress u made and how much planet surface have u destroy i would be more fun if they add monsters or aliens 8/10
Why? I just want people to know so they do not expect too much. Would get nothing out of it for myself by trying to get Dev attention other than wasting time.
so I have redownloaded this game 2 times and the same problem persists, when I load the game I get no language prompt to pick English so it loads in Chinese (I think) and it never fully loads. If anyone has a possible solution that would be cool. this game looked promising.
The UI and Presentation is top tier. The game mechanic is also great! Love the fact that I'm experiencing a factory game with such a beautiful and different environment. Highly recommend you try it if you're into these type of games.
Ways to fix: im not an expert though so feel free to correct me. Upgrade you driver/s it will help, especially if your have an old PC. this is early access your GPU or anything else in your PC might have an Incompatibility with the game. Your download or your installer might be corrupt. download again During installation something could have been blocked so turn of you Anti-virus apps before installation. Once again early access so just wait this one out bugs are expected.
"constructing Dyson Spheres (a megastructure that would orbit around a star, harnessing all its power and energy)"??? bruh..."a Dyson sphere is a hypothetical megastructure that completely encompasses a star and captures a large percentage of its power output." - from the 1st Wikipedia result of a Google search You literally got the concept inside out and wrong.
Devs did not get the concept wrong. Below is a response by Freeman J. Dyson in mid 1960. "A solid shell or ring surrounding a star is mechanically impossible. The form of 'biosphere' which I envisaged consists of a loose collection or swarm of objects traveling on independent orbits around the star. The size and shape of the individual objects would be chosen to suit the inhabitants. I did not indulge in speculations concerning the constructional details of the biosphere, since the expected emission of infrared radiation is independent of such details." strictly speaking, a dyson sphere , theoretically, should consist of a huge number of orbiting space stations, not a single cohesive whole, as the orbital stresses would rip a litteral dyson "sphere" to pieces, since not every point around the sun can have an orbital pattern that works while not interfering with every other point, and suns are just too massive for any construction process to keep it from collapsing under the gravitational force.
When a sphere encompasses another sphere in space, you could also say it orbits it, as it would most certainly not be static, but affected by the inner sphere gravity. Neither statement is wrong.
No, bruh. To orbit an object, the center of the satellite should be following elliptical path around the object. If Dyson sphere has uniform density (which we assume it does), its gravitational center aligns with the center of the sun and so does its path. So it doesn't orbit the sun.
The sphere will spin around the sun, since it's just a much lighter skeleton. A sphere's revolution around another sphere does not apply for anything currently, since such a phenomenon doesn't currently exist in the universe. So the term "orbit" here is used with some degree of freedom. Besides, an orbit is "gravitationally curved trajectory of an object around another celestial object". That trajectory is a sphere, so an "orbit" is the invisible sphere that the object follows. Either way, I don't consider the use of term "orbit" here wrong.
A sphere would collapse on itself. Even if it rotated, it wouldn't be uniform and the poles would have no significant counter to gravity. That would be the case even without a massive gravity well like the sun in the middle, as the structure would provide its own. The only thing feasible are rings or a swarm of satelittes, the latter requiring less initial investment, fewer materials and be more adaptive than the former.
I thought so as well, a sphere is improbable to work. Besides, even if you harvest all the planets around you probably won't get enough materials for it. With satellites you can start from 0 and go to a significant point much faster.
The sphere will spin around the sun Spinning is not orbiting A sphere's revolution around another sphere does not apply for anything currently What is shell theorem such a phenomenon doesn't currently exist in the universe You should be hanged for this. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence an orbit is "gravitationally curved trajectory of an object around another celestial object" How does it contradict anything I said? Even if sphere spins, it still follows a linear path. The only exception would be non-uniform weight distribution in a huge fucken sphere, like pic below Either way, I don't consider the use of term "orbit" here wrong. Because you are retarded
oh btw after a few hours of gameplay i can see this game is far from as bad as people think a early access game is sure some things are still are still missing like a single row of upgrades for the mecha that are unimportant to gameplay and its well addicting
According to the Steampage, the Game is mostly complete. You can play it from the beginning to the End. They only want to expand Mechanics in the Early Access. And EA shall take 1 Year. Here's the summary from the Steampage: After EA:
More types of planets and celestial bodies for players to discover
More exploration events, like being sucked by a black hole
Mecha editing: players will be able to design their own mechas
Monsters: alien enemies that can attack your factories and spaceships to bring more tension and excitement to the whole experience
More construction types, like suspended platforms to extend constructions from planets to space
Quality-of-life improvements and balancing
More music tracks and sound scenes, cutscenesβ¦β
i dont mind it too much but i was used to the one time buy thing and you get the whole package ofc they've stopped doing that pretty much from 12 years now but that's just how the industry developed so not much you can do
Wow I made a request this morning and it's already there, thank you very much IGG, you are are kings. I like to try out an early access game before giving money for it.
Wait to buy it, the game is missing what made factorio so great, which was a threat. The game is casual, build, expand, that's it. But combat IS planned.
I don't quite aggree on factorio. Combat was boring and kinda easy and repetitive. It's what you expect, instead of building a factory to produce something you build a factory to kill everything
yeah it just takes them a few days at most, its actually rather impressive they are able to constantly update their massive catalog of games while only getting ad revenue from all that effort
patiently(somewhat) waiting for it
gonna create new game ^^, and grind for hours
thnx for the update^^
currently this is late by 2 hotfix, doesnt really matter, well for mee
The Dark Fog is shit/pointless. I kind of regret waiting for it's release to replay the game and will play with it off the next time I get an itch for this.
PS: Factorio is better
