That tutorial lesson at 4:00 could have been better designed. My first thought too was that the robot needs the crate as a ledge to get up onto that higher platform - but it doesn't need to. Rather, the tutorial is just simpler than it looks; just get the box on the bridge out of the way. The higher platform could have been omitted to make this more obvious to a player who would otherwise over-think.
