I'm deffo gonna buy the game when I have money for it or asking for it on a birthday or whatever but I will finish the pirated version AND normal version just because of the sheer amount of extra content ofthe pirate version (I kinda hope there's a way to enable the extra content in the main game, especially the anti piracy pirates gang xD).

I really love the Devs of the game , promise that I'll buy this game when it go on a sale because I'm just a student and I currently have financial problems , but hey the games nice and the devs are great
The current version here has inbuilt DRM. -Notifications asking you to support the devs -Some quest text changed to ask why you've stolen the game -Random encounters on the seas with Anti-Pirate Pirates who you can only try and run from else they will destroy you -Random events while sailing that damage your boat If you're just trying out the game to see if its worth buying, these don't pose too much of an issue.
Oh as in there's specific events for pirates. I got one where seagulls damaged my sails cus "they don't like pirates" (Which I think is referring to it being a pirated game)
I tried this game out a while ago, and it is pretty fun (aside from the anti-pirate things you mentioned) and honestly its a REALLY fun game. Later I actually bought it to support this dev, and now i play the fk outta this game, worth the price on steam. Sebastian Nigro, if you are reading this, thank you for the great game. P.S I only ever use pirated game to see if i actually want to buy the game...or if the game is even worth the price that is put up, especially since prices for indie and triple A titles are increasing a ton.
I think you need to search for your money amount under type "double". There'll be two values. One is your actual money and the other is what the game displays. You'll notice when you change the real one, the display one will automatically start rolling towards the new target. Once you identify which one is real, you can crank that up as you wish.
so... just a question from a fan of your game that doesn't really have money to buy it, how did you find out about IGG? before becoming a pirate of the seven seas were you a game pirate?
huh, I think that I never heard of a game dev who searches for crack links for their own game, it must be weird to see your game become so famous that there are dozens of cracks for it online, and even weirder to see people complaining about it having a DRM (btw, I just like the way that you're so active with the community that you even go searching for the cracks for your game, and instead of being like a normal dev and just taking it down or something, you just talk with the people)
Well this is my third title and by far my most popular but I mean, it all feels like what I'd expect. Seeing that people cared enough to post a build of it (DRM-free or not) is cool but I will say that I feel not enough people seem to be willing to commit to supporting us (the devs). I've been ranted at via twitter before about how the game should have a "Cracked-Free-Version" or something for people to demo it. I'm not against piracy but it does suck to see the recently (past year or two) growing refunds on Steam alongside the huge lack of trust from gamers due to the game being in Early Access. Even huge titles like Rust are seeing refund rates as high as 25%. Overall I'm deeply concerned for my future as a developer but I figure that if my DRM works (which it does) and people enjoy the game, they'll eventually fork up the $10 for it, and/or wait for a sale.
This is pretty hilarious to read through. The new DRM doesn't show messages on the screen but messes with the gameplay instead. The people here that are bagging on us for being negative about piracy... If we were anti-piracy we would just prevent the game from running if it was cracked.
Please name the negative aspects of the DRM I wrote. It doesn't require an internet connection, doesn't affect performance, and is completely non-intrusive. Also as of lately I changed the DRM to not display giant text and instead it modifies the gameplay. So if you are still playing some old version with giant text, that's the host's fault.
What if your anti-piracy feature doesn't always work? You might just ruin the gameplay for someone who legitimately bought it. You also don't buy games on Steam. You pay to play a game for as long as Gabe allows it, as your account can just get deleted, any time, for various reasons. Steam has power over its users. That's intrusive.
i like how you say "gabe" and not "valve," as if gabe sits on his computer and says, "yes. xXP00sy514y3rXx can play this game hits a button to allow access"
Lol, the developer of Don't Sink and Rock God Tycoon on a game piracy site...but you can't blame people for assuming that it's Anti-Piracy when they don't really know much about programming (myself included, I know some, but not a lot) It just seems like anti-piracy, and to be honest I played it a bit even with the annoying flashing pirate jargon telling me to return the game (nice btw) and it seems like an awesome game. The only reason I pirate games btw is cuz I'm to damn poor to buy them lol even if they are 10$...all my money goes to bill, rent and food...kinda sucks. Nice work on the game btw, I love pirate games, sadly there really isn't that many that are really any good...but I can firmly say this one is up there with the good ones. P.S. I'll try to buy the game when I can, I already told a few friends about it, and they bought it.
And that's why I don't force-close the game if it's cracked. I think trolly DRM is a small price to pay for an illegally obtained product. We've all been young at some point.
Makes sense, It's not like the game is unplayable, its annoying af, but you can still move and play the game. If half the people here do what they say they do, like trying a game before they buy it like I do, the txt on the screen shouldn't matter, because they still get to try it and see if they want to buy the game later....I made my decision, I tried it, liked it and now it's sitting in my Steam wishlist waiting for me to have some extra cash to buy it. I'm 27 and my stealing days have been long done, looking back, it seems just as stupid as it did when i actually did it.
I'll be coming back here every few days or so, so if they upload a crack to the anti-piracy the game has, someone post it here please... i dont want to have to scroll down millions of comments to find out there was a crack added lol
So that shit with the blinking words going around my screen is anti piracy? Hope it gets fixed soon cuz it REALLY wanna play it lol... i love pirate games
omg yes, I use this site as a....for lack of a better term....game demo site, I try games out (usually play a little bit unless i REALLY love the game) and buy them later if it seems worth the asking price.
I actually did buy the game, Im 28, and i have a job, I have no reason to pirate a game other then to check it out and see if its worth the price that I am supposed to be playing. I have over 300 games on my steam account that I have bought after pirating them, some i payed full price, some were not worth the full price and i waited till there was a sale.
the current version has anti-piracy protection. wait for a "fixed" version also, saying things like "delete this" and "this game is shit" doesnt help anyone. if youre not going to code a new crack, just comment that it has protection and wait. theres no need to be an ass about it
this game is early acces, i dont mind that, problem is that it seems there is some anti piracy detector built ingame( continious text spam on a side of the screen)
unplayable due to it knowing its a pirated copy somehow and flashing annoying messages across the screen. All the dev did here was guarantee I won't buy a copy of their game.
I disagree. At the store I can try the piece of clothing/accessory on and decide if I like it. This dev didn't release a demo for me to try. The pirated copy(Which I use as a demo in cases like this) is unplayable. The developer has a negative view on piracy. I have a negative view on them. Try before you buy. Your comparison was very off. Nice try sounding like an elitest though.
i really hope you take your head out of your ass one day long enough to see that this level of ingenuity is what drives the world to greatness if put to the right tasks. im not an elitist for applauding a dev for creatively finding a way to help insure their hard work bares fruit. youre the elitist for feeling that you should be able to take anything you want for free regardless of whether or not someone losses their livelihood. this level of ignorance and self-entitlement are whats wrong with the world. good day
So I see that you completely ignored that I said I use piracy to demo games. Look my name up on steam. I have 300+ games. Most of which are from indie devs. You are clearly under educated, hasty to write nonsense and cant form a single logical thought. That was a very adorable attempt to try and spin my very accurate insult at you back on me. I'm not an elitest. I'm a logical thinker and called you exactly what you are. Even in that comment you try and make yourself sound so high and mighty like you are better than other people. THATS what makes you an elitest. THATS what makes people not like you. Also, If I demo a game and the game sucks(not by my own opinion, but by general standards of being a bad game)I'm not going to buy it. I dont buy broken products, I dont buy things I dont like. Then that developer deserves to lose his livelihood. Just like when companies go under for over promising and under delivering. There is no self entitlement. I dont feel I'm owed anything and I'm not asking for anything for free. I even messaged the developer and had a great conversation with him about a possibility of there being a demo in the future(He said he was thinking about it and that me asking him confirmed that he will start work on one) The only ignorance being spouted off is by you. You're a sad little troll and should strongly consider swallowing a bullet. We dont need you on this planet. Dont reply to me. You dont deserve my time. You are a pathetic excuse of a person to try and come at me with such nonsense. OH NO. YOU DIDN'T LIKE MY OPINION! ITS A GOOD THING YOU WROTE A BUNCH OF CRAP AND TOLD ME! Bloody Idiot....
lol yep im an elitist because im willing to wait for someone to find a workaround for a game that i find interesting so that i can pirate it instead of knocking because i currently cant. im not the one claiming to be here to "demo" games to form an opinion on them before i buy them. im just here for free shit. im not the one who claims to have so much pull in the game dev world that i got someone to consider making a demo. im not the who said that you can look up my profile to show off what games i have. im not the one who thinks so much of themself that i can form an opinion on a game that i havent played all i did was point out the stupidity in the op. btw you ARE asking for free things. thats why youre here, on a website that has nothing but free games, just like everyone else here.
How is being on a website that offers free games somehow determine that I'm asking for them? So If I go to costco to buy groceries and happen to try an interesting sample. I was asking for the sample? Seems legit... Man you really are incredibly dim witted. You are stretching incredibly far to try and justify your claims and it just comes off pathetic. I can see you are getting upset too which makes me happy. Now I will be an elitest. Its not my fault you suck at life and made shit decisions to not be able to afford games. Its not my fault you didn't try harder. Its not my fault that you dont pay attention to the world around you and its not my fault that you started a quite pointless argument with invalid points. Its your fault. I can feel you crying on the other side of the screen. Slamming down on your more than likely shitty keyboard and thinking in your head "ooooh I got him this time" but you didnt. You put all the power in my hands. I now control you. I control your outcome and your next decision to say something else stupid. I didn't even ask for your attention and you gave it to me on a silver platter. I bet the few friends you have like having you around because you make them look good. I bet they keep you around because you are funny. Not in a "haha hes so awesome" funny but more like a "HAHAHA Is this guy for real?" kind of funny. Like they are laughing at you and not with you. Come on. Feed me more. Give me more of your attention and in doing so give me complete control over you. Waste more of your life replying to me instead of doing something valuable like learning to use UE4 to create something you can be proud of. Or learning a programming language and creating a product that will make someones life easier. Keep wasting your time being insane and doing the same things over again hoping for something different. I enjoy people like you. Thats exactly the reason I did do those things. Because when I make something that people like you are too lazy to make. I make the profits off of stupid people like yourself. Its such a beautiful system that I will continue to exploit. I've actually been working on a program that finds people like you on posts and websites like this. It scans the contents of the post and attempts to use the words against them in a logical manner. Its actually quite complicated and impressive. Its kind of like what you just did to me. Which again was really cute. I could sell you this program so that you can use your time better and instead just have a bot look stupid for you. It would be less frustrating for you and you could actually be productive. Oh wait.... you cant afford it I forgot. LOL. Thanks again. I've enjoyed making fun of you.
i thought i wasnt worth your time? what happened to that? its been so fun triggering you these last few days, but your words carry less weight than your thoughts and i have grown so tiresome of both i havent even bothered to read the last post. i feel you actually are no longer worth my time. ta ta
At this point its all about trolling you. We both know you read that whole thing and are screaming on the other side of the computer because I was exactly right. I own you.
