Yeah, ponies. But to be honest, after playing the game I've got seriously surprised.
D'lirium tells about a mare named "Ada". She and her friends are invited to End of Year Ceremony. Ada recives mysterious box in her gift. After opening it the real game begins. Gameplay is quite simple. You have spells, weapons and enemies. Your goal is to find keys and open your way to the end of level. As we go through the levels we will meet our friends, but dead and consumed by darkness. Game have 2 endings that are thought-provoking. The game does not have a hugely elaborate and lengthy storyline, but it is well constructed and the endings are as satisfying as possible.
Here I give my ratings for the individual elements of the game:
Gameplay: 7/10. Not bad, not particularly developed either.
Climate and graphics: 8/10. Dark and gloomy climate makes game feel more fear. There's no boring jumpscares, but overall climate and level building can bring some shivers and fear.
Sounds and music: 7/10. Maybe not every sound sounds quality, but a lot of it makes good climate. Music and ambients are quite good and fits to the game.
Story: 9/10. There's no much of story of this game, 'couse mostly you're running here and there among "monsters" and looking for keys. But if story appears, it's really good and quality. The dialogues are well constructed and the protagonist's reactions are appropriate to the situation. Endings of the game gives a lot to think and are quite satisfying. After playing once and reciving bad ending, I had a lot of motivation to play again and try my best to get better ending
I'm waiting for next updates and finding out what happens next
