You're priviledged because the market is predominately dominated by games that cater to the tastes and preferences of male players, of which having a male protagonist is included. I explained this on my first post.
You've chosen to focus on a limited sample size of games that obviously aren't for you, then proceeded to cry wolf and blame it all on the market for becoming too "politically correct", when the game isn't even -trying- to be "politically correct". To be honest, I doubt most of the games you were alluding to were either. (Female protag =/= political correctness, especially in games where they are sexualized on purpose for male players to enjoy.)
You're just upset that the game doesn't cater to you and decided to make this far more political than it has any right to be. Like, I kinda understand how you feel; I've had promising games turn out into complete disappointments in the past. It sucks. But sooner or later you have to realize that not everything goes the way you want, all the time. Acting all entitled won't make the situation better.
You said your piece and had a chance to rant, now move on and look for other games to play. You'll find something eventually.

You never mentioned anime in your original post and neither did I. Don't know why you felt the the need to bring that up when I, too, was talking about games in general...
For the most part, I don't have a problem with political correctness. It stems from the desire to treat and be treated with respect and consideration, regardless of your culture, religion, gender and/or orientation. That's a good thing. Some people take it too far and expect others to follow suit but those are the minority among the minorities.
IMO I think the gaming industry has improved over the past few years and this so called "political correctness" has contributed to it. The market is expanding its horizons, reaching out to different tastes and preferences, which is great. I'm not going to like every game, but I find it that I have more choices now than I did before.
If you think you're being treated unfairly and there's no equity then congrats, now you know how a lot of people felt several years back, with more limited options. That said, if having a male protag is your only requirement then you're still more priviledged than most.

i've been completely ignoring character gender, race, stature and other attributes, degree of anamorphism, sexual orientation, and various forms of artistic license for a very long time now. i'll also generally skip cutscenes and other story elements, basically boiling the game down to play value only. and if there isn't much left it gets tossed in a hurry. so, you know.. problem solved. give it a shot.
