It reminds me of a game called Witching Stone. And it looks like this is what happeneds when your game takes way tooooooo long to develop after releasing a demo and the copycat beat you 1 month ahead on your release date.

edit: after playting for entire playthrough the difference are bigger than expected, I take back the copycat comment. It is actually a good game just the balance is off for now, but a few patches could change things fairly quick, you should try it out if got free time.
This game is a solid 4/5 for roguelike genre, you could give it a go if you got time.
