Pretty cool game. More than just a piece of propaganda, it is more a statement on the problems that make social changes difficult in traditional politics. I see a lot of weird troll ppl here calling names and repeating weird, axiomatic things. If you think you are a rational human being, then you should try it out and see what the devs have to say on the issues at hand. Also, I'd love to pay 3 bucks for this on steam or something, but I don't have access to "internet money". Sorry devs. One day I'll have it and use it on stuff like this
after laughing my ass off at this ridiculous comment section filled with people who get triggered over a word, i downloaded the game and gave it a proper playthrough. definitely an engaging and interesting political game, it isn't necessarily glorifying socialism or communism or whatever. i would say it mostly just criticizes the bad things about capitalism. of course, you can promote whichever economical system you wish in the game, it's not limiting you only to socialist options which I believe makes this game appealing to supporters of either systems. you can play this game like a regular capitalist-supporting president or attempt to move away from it and introduce a socialist system. of course, keeping both systems working is gonna be challenging so don't expect for things to be easier if you pick one or the other. (speaking from experience) overall, i'm definitely gonna continue playing this game and i recommend anyone with an open mind to give the game a try.
Democratic Socialism refers to a form of Socialism in which a Socialist Leader is put in power by means of electoral politics, notable followers of Democratic Socialism include George Orwell. Democratic Socialism is most notably currently practiced in Rojava.
Technically, communism would work if the kinks in its foundation was reevaluated, after-all, Marx didn't really meant for it to be a system of government. He was just portraying his belief of what an ideal government would be, that's also why it get distorted when put into practical use. Aside from that, the second issue is that communism hinges on the idea that the entire world functioned under the same system of government, which obviously, it doesn't. Communism just doesn't work right now, but then again, neither does socialism nor capitalism work all that well either. Same applies for the rest, like meritocracy, oligarchy, republics, etc. At the end of the day, it comes down to: which system of government will make my country superior to the rest so we can exploit the most resources?
I disagree. Marxism Leninism clearly "works" in the real world . Marx didn't spend his whole life analyzing the contradictions of capitalism under the assumption that there was no alternative. You clearly haven't read much Marx, since very little of his writings actually deal with government, and instead focused on the the philosophy of materialism, the idea of class struggle, the economic structures of capitalism, and the sociological effects of Alienation. I also disagree with what you said about capitalism. Capitalism also clearly works. It is just by its nature a brutal, exploitative and ruthless system. It isn't the dysfunction of capitalism that plagues modern society, but rather its function. The problems of capitalism are tied to the very fundamental class structures of the capitalist economy.
Because these triggered beta males live for getting outraged over non-troversies. They wouldn't know what to do if they weren't triggered about nothing.
You know, that is actually a good catch! The irony of these people coming out of the woodworks to attack a political game's ideology without realizing they are on a site that actively undermines their own preferred politics is incredible.
The right wing isn't exactly known for introspection. You have to phrase things for them like it's out to get them. Bonus points for making it racist. For example: "Mexicans love software piracy websites because they hate the economic system that puts food on the table for honest, hard-working Americans like you".
Ah yes, the post-meritocratic society. Putting bureaucrats in charge of more stuff when they can't even handle what they're in charge of surely won't backfire.
Yeah, you say that, but then you get all conservatards coming in and having a complete melt down every time their safe space is intruded on by people who dare say the politically incorrect word "socialism". lol. What a bunch of delicate snowflakes the right is.
In complete agreement. This is a silly little game that does not take itself too seriously (I mean, the characters are anthropomorphic animals), but these people just see the title and go "OMG THEIR POLITICS BAD!!1 MY POLITICS GOOD!!!111"
Socialism will always fail no matter what you call it. It goes directly against human nature. Different versions of socialism, including everyone's favorite, National Socialism, have been tried again and again and again. At its core its change for change sake. People dont like capitalism so they keep trying to come up with an alternative. No one to date had found a viable alternative. Capitalism built the west, and it works. Its not perfect, but its the best we got.
"Different versions of socialism, including everyone's favorite, National Socialism," Wow, by that logic you surely must think North Korea and the Congo are the most democratic and free places on Earth. After all, they both have "Democratic Republic of" in their names!
Scandinavia (Norway, Finland etc) is socialist and they are great countries. Hell even Sweden was good before they took a ton of migrants and that as nothing to do with socialism.
It does. Their socialism is what was taken advantage of by all the mohameddans now in charge of the country. Sweden is one of those corpses which still hasn't realized it's dead.
It's a matter of how much. When you give money away for free to them, many and many more will come. And then dare to tell them "there's no money left for you".
A shit ton more than Venezuela since they don't have the social policies that Scandinavia has, the ton of syndicates and unions that Scandinavia has, and the statized natural resources like Scandinavia has. Venezuela is a corporatocracy.
If it was Liberal Reigns, it would be a Free Market Capitalist Simulator, because I studied Political Science and know how to tell the fucking difference between full-on Protectionist Welfare Granting Socialism and a Centrist Clusterfuck.
Democratic Socialism is single payer healthcare, tuition free college, subsidized housing, free public transportation; these policies are successfully thriving in countries all over the world, leading to higher levels of human happiness and more protections for nature!
...In a wealthy country, you tax the wealthy to pay for universal programs to benefit the public good! It works in countries all over the world, and here in the U.S. for all of the 1950's the highest marginal tax rate was over 90%, and for decades afterward it remained over 70%, nearly double what it is now, so the idea that it's impossible to tax the wealthy here is ignorant and ahistorical.
You're acting like they'll be unable to leave. You do realize that wealthy people would simply take all of their resources out of the reach of a government that act too adversarially towards them. And after they're gone, a socialist society would create an environment that would prevent new people from becoming wealthy.
And yet pro-socialism people absolutely refuse to give people they view as wealthy anything. Also, what can you give people that already essentially have anything?
I'm visiting my parents; you know (quarantine, ps: take care!) cause where I live, it's a bit small and overcrowded. So I played this game by curiosity, I started this game, and it started playing a tune. My father said, "hey, I know that music, it's the International!.. ccksuckers!". My father (university students in the 70's) fought (as a student, i.e. no weapon, no terrorism or any other sht) against a fascist state; however, when the things failed, all their leaders ran to another country with the money of everybody, abandoning all their comrades (in a single day, my father lost all their friends). And many years later, democracy returned, and all those leaders returned as heroes, and all of them returned as richest bastards (see Bernie Sanders)!. Fcking heroes!. Now, is this game biased? Yes, and wrongly biased. It is not about socialism but communism. I repeat, the first song is called The International Communist, and it's funny because Communism hates socialism, same sht but one with corn.
Dude, it's just a game, wth. You are expecting what? A socialist game with choices leading to suffer and misery "bEcAusE tHiS zOcIaLLiiiiSSSSM aBOoUt. dAmN pRoPaGaNNNNdAAAA 😭😭😭😭😭" writing a freaking text to show your silly thoughts and fanfic just remind me the early 2000s crazy christians whining about yu-gi-oh cards and Harry Potter because is the devil. lol
Bernie Sanders never fled the country, he came from a working class background and and is only a millionaire now in his 70's because he wrote a book after 2016. The Internationale is a fun traditional song, taking it that seriously/literally is dumb.
I never saw that he ran out of the country but he is the same sh*t. Socialists leaders in a nutshell: rich and privileged guy asking for a help while he sacrifices poor idiots for his own greed.
Everybody must help and work hard (but me)!
And yes, it's funny because most of them get rich writing books or doing conferences and earning a million in a single day, because it's easy and every writers earn a fortune doing that. In any case, socialism =/= communism, both are trash and this game is communism.
So This is what Propaganda looks like. Almost as bad as this CV lock down they are trying to put us under so they can destroy the economy. Almost as bad as that wanking off to everything game.
Press X to doubt. If you live in Europe, you likely live in a country that has affordable healthcare, focus on the wellbeing of old and sick people, worker's rights to not be exploited by giant companies (as much), and of course, free/subsidized education! But then I guess you never found out about that last one. 🤣
Wtf does 'affordable healthcare' even mean? Affordable for whom? "focus on the wellbeing of old and sick people" - not really, no, my country definitely doesn't 'focus' on it. Don't work in a giant company, so don't know and honestly don't care. Pretty much every country has some sort of free education available in it. But yes, my country is another crappy "social-democratic" shithole with increasingly more social-policies added pretty much every single year. If literally the majority of all 'developed' countries weren't more or less exactly the same, I'd long have tried to start my life anew somewhere else. But alas, Socialism and socialist policies are far too popular all over the world as a result of D*mocracies and the endless attempts to appeal to the lowest common denominator, thus there is pretty much no point in even trying to find a better place to live in since it'd be pretty much the same (or maybe even worse) anywhere I'd have went anyway.

meh
politics
It's by far the best comedy genre out there.
This is training for a socialist! lol! Crazy!
