This game is actually a very decent fire emblem clone. Definitely try it out if you are a fan of that series. It is SO much better than the Rise Eterna game that came out before. It isn't as polished as Fire Emblem games of course but I think that's to be expected from a low budget indie. This one definitely deserves the positive reviews it has on Steam.
The loading screens are just so badly place. Let's take fire emblem for example. You start a map, you do all the pre battle stuff, then start battle. Then any cutscene or dialog plays and you just do the map. Here you do pre-battle menu, loading screen, play little narration on world map, loading screen, play cutscene/dialog, loading screen, and then game... Why so many loading screen between everything. Otherwise its not a bad FE copy, definitely feels super rough and unpolished in comparison but not bad over all.
oh, thanks for the answer.... still, good to have but won't beat the good ol' GBA/DS emulators save state function... save wherever and whenever you want... lol
Was one of my favorites on Mega Drive. Don't forget the second part too. And maybe 3d versions for dreamcast if you'll really get into it. P.S. I did not get into Fire Emblem series yet, need to choose an optimal entry point.
The devs seem to be patching the game alot. It's probably better to wait and play it once their done so I don't have to start over to play the new patch.
It is called review bombing. People do it because it is the "cool" thing to do on the internet now a days. Don't decide on a games base on positive or negative reviews. Fire Emblem is not some indie game. Many people played it, many videos of the game available online. Just watch the game play then decide for yourself if you want to play it or not instead of deciding on a game base on reviews.
Sate, sate, sate... Guess people nowadays really believe that bad games that get called out for what they are by the majority of the playerbase are being review bombed. Also, even if that is/was the case, review bombing does happen for a reason.
if u are talking about rise eterna then sadly it isnt review bombing, the game is really a bad take for fire emblem, and dont get me wrong, i prefer classic fe than the newer one anyway, FE8 is my favorite, 2nd is 7 and 6. and rise eterna is nothing like either, enemy just doesnt move unless u are in their red range, and theres too many cursing for no reason? trying to make the game mature sure but u dont need cursing for it, fe 7 and 6 is mature with really less or none cursing at all with how their politic work. and then theres no counter, its ur turn, u attack, enemy turn, they attack, its just a bad take in general. this game though, its still not what fe6-7 or even 8, but its not bad in comparison, but thats just me, cause the class variation is just 6 for start, it does expand but not like fe8 classes, that one is my fav cause of how massive the class system is, specially knight general addition.
I tried Rise Eterna and it had potential, but too many things felt poorly done. Which is a shame as I liked some of the ideas, just it wasn't done very well.
Review bombing is not great - but one should consider why that game received it in the first place. Review bombing won't happen if the game or game-maker did not do something that made people really pissed off.
You are correct. I wanted to say Fire Emblem first but ... honestly I didn't dare. It's a bit too unpolished to be in that family. But it is also correct that this is more about 'heroes' than troops. In that sense, yeah, absolutely. The game brings some interesting stuff of its own as well when it comes to classes and can develop into something unique if they ever make a sequel.

TL;DR: They added a battle save function.
