This game has rather simple graphics, yet it only runs at 30FPS whatsoever. Graphic options doesn't seem to effect anything visual except resolution.
The car has stiff control, cannot drift. Yet the track will feature some unreasonably sharp corners or even chicanes, force you to slow down A LOT (see the next one.)
The car stalls when the track goes uphill and refuses to accelerate any further if you hit the ramp too slow, it won't accelerate even if you hit nitro.
Car will spin wildly if you hit a road block at high speed, ends up making you disoriented and there's no wrong way warning.
You can't reset your car if you crash. So generally, this game has a good concept, but the execution is really bad.
for me it's about the graphics and beautiful nostalgic atmosphere, added to the music over the content, I am not deeply into racing games and that's why it's quite enjoyable for gamers like me, not looking any sort of challenge with the popular games like nfs or gta
cyber outrun looks way unfinished, being there's no traffic, no sounds besides turbo and sirens, and no challenge, as you said. Ah well. now cannonball is quite impressive in how they manage to use the original (square & low-res screen) cabinet data to recreate an enhanced experience without stretching or blurring the image. interesting too how it bypasses the attract mode's highscore list and other pauses. and slipstream.. was sure i tried it, but maybe that's because it reminds me so much of the oldies i played the hell out of back in the day. (you know, lotus, rad racer, road rash, etc) can't find it in my stash tho, so i'll have to pull it too now 😉

By the way, do you guys know about "Cannonball", the "enhanced Outrun engine"?
Believe me, it's very much worth it! I like especially the widescreen and objects have better resolution !

Edit : Cyber Outrun is very boring after 5 minutes. Content is very, very little.
The very first Out Run from 1986 was more interesting because stages were very diverse, and short. Here, it's just the same level all the time, and it seems to be endless.
Also, is it just me, or the car has no sound, except the boost?🤔
Lighting effects are pretty cool, and the car is beautiful, I think.
Music is basic NewRetroWave we've heard thousands of times already.
Roads are empty, except the useless roadblocks which are extremely easy to avoid.
I remember I had way more fun escaping from the police in Need For Speed 4 back in 1999. lol
Meh, I'll pass.
Besides the Cannonball "remaster" I already posted, you can try https://igg-games.com/slipstream-636618976-free-download.html, which is pretty cool, and certainly the best Outrun alternative on PC. There's another game in 3D, but I forgot its name...🤔

thank you!
It got my interest. (^3^)
this is outrun, if you glitched through the map and never ran into any obsatcles, and never had a finsih to the levels.
