The characters are likeable, the voices are really good, the puzzles are reasonable (in that moon logic way) the graphics are nice, and the game is Hilarious.
Play it with a walkthrough near in case you get stuck (but don't constantly read the walkthrough, explore and interact with things first). You'll probably enjoy it, even if you don't like adventure games that much, because it's very streamlined but still incredibly fun. As Vash said, the characters and writing are what shines the most, with the places and events being a strong second, so it's more an experience than a puzzle.
An absolute must-play! For me, the best game of the series by far! The graphics are beautiful (nevermind the low resolution), it's all carefully hand-drawn and animated. The voice-overs are brilliant and witty, with great talents on the cast. The story is classic Monkey Island goodness. The puzzles are Lucas Arts puzzles (so... maybe keep a walkthrough handy hehe). Play it, love it, buy it! But most of all... watch out behind you! It's a three-headed monkey!
And here I was thinking this was a remaster. Oh well.
