The current version has a bug where the game will sometimes corrupt your character file, freezing up your controls and eventually corrupting it to the point that the game can't even read it. This being a GoG install that needs no crack, this is definitely a problem with the game itself. The current file is a version behind (newest is 1.0.0.2), though the patch notes don't mention having fixed this bug. I recommend waiting until it's fixed.
1.0.0.2 seems to have fixed this, even if the patch notes say nothing about it. Or perhaps it was only a problem with the GoG version. I'm rescinding my warning, but if anyone else suffers from this bug, please post about it so other people know to watch out.
Despite the page title not being updated, it has in fact been updated to the current version of 1.0.0.2. This crack is taken from Steam rather than GoG, which means it looks for save files in a different place. Fortunately, the saves themselves aren't actually any different, so moving from a GoG crack to a Steam crack or vice-versa is as easy as moving it from one location to the other. (I personally recommend moving rather than copy/pasting, as it reduces the risk of you accidentally overwriting a newer save with an older save if you ever have to move the files back.)
Manually download the mods from the Core Keeper Mod Website and put them in both of these locations. Make a folder for each mod you download. (I think you only need it in one, but it sometimes didn't work if i only did it in one and not the other)
I found a new issue,The mods file path for version 1.0.0.6 is: C:\Users\NAME\AppData\LocalLow\Pugstorm\Core Keeper\Steam\6144\mods if you're playing a different version and want to upgrade to 1.0.0.6, copy the save file to this folder ....Steam\6144\ as well. Otherwise, you'll have to start a new save.
Manually download mods from mod.io Unzip them to both path : D:\Core Keeper 1.0.0.6\CoreKeeper_Data\StreamingAssets\Mods C:\Users\Name\AppData\LocalLow\Pugstorm\Core Keeper\Steam\6144\mods
It's working for me.
And I think it's not a good idea to download mods from store page, it makes the game connect to the internet ,which may not be safe.
Had an issue where the game crashed when exiting last night and I come back to it in the morning and it didn't save progress properly. I backed up the files from appdata folder now just in case it happens again.
I just opened up the barriers and farmed a bit of scarlet ore but after the crash. it sent be back to before going out to Malugaz. It was pretty weird, I was thinking the saving got messed up because some of the furniture that I put down including walls and rooms were reverted to items but maybe I'm misremembering.
Anyways take this as a sign to back your worlds up.
Being 2D helps a lot on the graphic processing end, but it doesn't necessarily help in any other capacity. Core Keeper's got a lot going on in terms of game mechanics, not to mention a whole lot of NPCs navigating a dynamically changing map. It'd be pretty miraculous if they optimized it down to the processing cost of your average 2D game.
Saves from earlier versions should work, but they explicitly stated those worlds will be referred to as "Classic" and both be unsupported and have missing features - the 1.0 update even has a rework of world generation into it.
Nvm , I found a way . If anyone had the same problem as me go to : "AppData\LocalLow\Pugstorm\Core Keeper\Steam" and copy these folder "saves", "worldinfos" and "worlds" BEFORE installing the game and then copy it in "AppData\LocalLow\Pugstorm\Core Keeper\GoG\0"
