for those who have a freeze in Continuing the game This works on me.
inside the menu, chose option.
Got to Display and in Display Mode chose WIndowed.
Open task manager.
in DETAILS tab. Find Control. and set affinity to 2 CPU only, I choose cpu 0 and cpu 1.
Try Continue option in the game. Every time i play the game this is what I'm doing, like every time. i tried regular continue with no setting of affinity to 2 cpus and windowed, the game freeze. so this is what i do. After CONTINUE works, i then set the affinity back to my regular 12 cpus and have it fullscreen
The game works but for some reason the DirectX 12 version appears pixelated and flickery because the vertices' outlines show up randomly for some reason
Yeah i have the same problem . I tried to reinstall it but that didnt fix it . It seems that its a recent thing since no one before had the same problem as us at least i dont see anyone in the comments talking about it .

I absolutely love it! 🖤 Just one thing... I can't construct the Surge weapon, it just won't show up 😅 I kept seeing board missions for it, but I thought "Oh well, I guess it'll unlock st some point along the game" But now that I've finished the main game, I STILL can't get it. So I looked up what unlocks it: It says it's automatically available with the AWE DLC 🤔 The rest of the DLC seems to work: I can look at the lack of a Surge mode from within the Investigations sector 😅 Anyone else have this problem? Or an idea for a solution?
I was downloading control ultimate edition which had 5 links at http://megaup.net i bookmarked 4 of the links. i downloaded some 20 gb of data. now i have returned for the last link but it is not available. the Razor ultimate edition of control (i was downloading other ultimate edition) and control standard edition( without expansions ) are availiable. where is the ultimate edition that i was downloading? can you help dear modirator please?
FYI, if anyone needs this: the savegames are stored in .\steam_settings\870780\remote I had a corruption earlier due to a system crash (probably not the game's fault, my system isn't doing too well in general these days) and now I like to have it backed up.
How do you install the game? Multi-part games always have a single iso to mount and install, but this one just has 3 .exe's (normal, 32, and 64), some dll files, and data folders.
I'm sure you've already figured this out, but for other people wondering: This seems to be a portable version. Just run either the DX11 or DX12 .exe, depending on whether your system supports DX12. Save files are stored in .\steam_settings\870780\remote
hi, anyone tell me is this an installer or just a drag and drop? also is this any different to Control-HOODLUM with Control.The.Foundation.Update.v1.10-CODEX update? thx
My PC is pretty low spec, I have an old AMD FX 6300 and a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB, but I'm very happy with the result on pretty high custom settings. Looks and feels great :)
Me.. I use Ryzen 7 2700U APU to play this game.. I dont have discrete GPU or smt.. I get 35 fps on lowest (SSAO, Film Grain and Motion Blur on) 768p.. But atleast it is playable
no, its gonna run like shit even at lowest setting. I am running 1650 and the previous version of Control runs like crap with 3550H even on lowest setting lol i doubt yours is any better, considering rx460 is even slower than 1650
Just stop being poor. if you work very hard and do 50 hours a week every week for the rest of your life maybe one day you can afford to buy a broken vega 56 that you can duct tape back together
i'm sure you could bring the save file from the old location to the new one, if the location even changed. never got around to playing the old game, and deleted this one a few hours after starting it because it was fuckin boring
yeah, i've tried to do some looking on my own to see if i could help out. it seems that right now old save games from the epic store version of control are incompatible with this steam version of the game. i guess the developers are "working on it." steam puts the save files in "program files-x86\steam\userdata\870780\remote" but i'm pretty sure this wouldn't store the saves in the same location, even if it is the steam version of the game
I recommend using DirectX 11 not 12, 'Cause it causes issues when loading textures and whenever you enter in another room, you have to go in the menu to make the texture load. (Maybe it happens only to some people...)
This has all the DLC, including the just released one, the old one doesn't. Other than that and a few new additions to the options menus, nothing, really.
PTPA This game made me try other Remedy titles like Alan Wake and Quantum Break which are both amazing. The gameplay is extraordinary in combination with the storyline. Control deserves its praise for outstanding worldbuilding and a story of events like we've never seen before. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HC_-3FfyrcI
There's no crack on this game. Is it already cracked ? If it's the Steam version, where is the Steam emulator ? I guess I'll wait for the CODEX version... if there will be one.
It's pre-cracked. There's no need to install the game. Just extract the game's folder from compression and run the game using one of the available ".exe" files. I personally uses "Control_DX12.exe" for DirectX12 support, especially as a Windows 10 user.
Older GPUs do not support DX12 (GTX7xx ?). There is no performance improvement from DX11 to DX12 that I could see. I used to play on Win7 (DX11) and now that I bought a new rig (Ryzen 7 3700X + RTX 2080), I'm stuck with Win10. I ran the game at DX12 without Ray Tracing / DLSS and the performance is the same. Dare I say, DX11 performance is better, specially under Win7. But now I enable RTX + DLSS 2.0 and the game runs great. For a DX12 game to be better than DX11, the graphics engine must be 100% pure native DX12. A DX12 "upgrade patch" on a DX11 graphics engine is not the same.
Not really, no. As long as the story is really engaging, the characters well written and acted, and the world really interesting to explore, who cares what gender the protagonist -that you're playing as- is?
Glad he had the balls to re-evaluate his post. Some ppl just have a mindset that saying negative shit grants them a thumbs up. Its like that in other sites.
You realize telekinesis was not invented by George Lucas, right? He just took a concept already invented and rebranded it...interestingly, a well known user of telekinesis before Lucas used the Force in the late 70's was Jean Grey of the X-men in the early 60's, a red head kinda like this game's character.
You mean this and Fallen Order are the same game? Even if they were, which they aren't but let's pretend they are, Control came out before Fallen Order...so apparently the developers have precognition as they managed to copy a game they predated. 🤐
If you liked that game, there's more then one 3rd person hack and slash in the world. More then one racing game. More then one sci-fi movie. There's nothing really wrong with using a STYLE. You don't have to reinvent the wheel every time, or there would be 4 different completely unique from each other games in teh world. In fact a lot of times I'll find the knockoff better then the original. Just take the original + add more nudity = even better!
Yeah but bro , it's copying the gtame and that's not cool bro , you can't make more than one game of a genre bro, listen here people dislike that, look at the other game posted people always compare to other game and complain so bro you can't make more than one game bro that's how it is bro it is how it is with human bro I'm just adapting to the human stup... capacity bro
this game came out before the most recent star wars game btw also its heavily influenced by a website called SCP not star wars do some research before you try to accuse the game of copying another
Well, it won't do it automatically, I just tried...need to find the original save file and then find out where this version's save file is, then maybe we can use the previous save file. Least I hope so because I was pretty far as well.
Yes, unfortunatelly. I've beat the game already and i was only waiting for the AWE dlc. Such a shame. I'm trying to figure out another way to recover this save, but the problem (i guess), is that the folder "remedy" in the local are the Epic's save default. Then when you try to take that and put on the "Steam" save file it doesn't work. But i might be wrong as well, still trying to understand this shit
A good way to speed up replaying the game is using the trainer for the game made by Fling. Be invincible, level up as much as you need, etc., and turn on Super Speed (basically, like x3 or x5 speedhack in Cheat Engine), and just go through the game again. It worked for me. The DLC doesn't activate until the main story is completed anyway, so...
Honestly, you don't even need a trainer with this version. Just go to Options and Game play, then scroll down to the Accessibility portion...you can reduce damage taken, energy gathered and used, speed of ammo being regenerated, etc. It's like a built in trainer, really.
In the end this would be the ideal state of mind. I love playing games as a female protagonist, but Jesus Christ, I would rather have the Horizon zero blands of the world be fun. Ugh.
HZD bland ..? Was it the stunning visuals, the deep and mysterious sci-fi scenario, the very well written characters or the all-but-bland incredibly well thought out side-quests ? Call it "bad" if you don't like that kind of game but bland ... Wow. Just ... wow.
loving this a lot. and sure playing as a female character gives it a different perspective. Btw I am a Gamer who likes to write https://captaincryptonite.blogspot.com sometimes.
Lmao you said so much in so little time. When I was a kid I also felt weird about playing as a female protagonist. Nowadays I don't really care as much as long as the game is good, but I still carry a male preference cause I like to imagine being the dude. I don't think it's much different from playing as a female though hahaha. I mean there's games we play as animals and monsters and what not, so I definitely don't mind lol.
Obviously not since I wrote this. Not everyone has the time you have to go and search up other people. Maybe when I have that much free time and actually care, I'll find it out, but thanks for pointing it out with the three dots in the beginning, that really made an impact.
Actually, I didn't search up that comment/account - didn't need to. I've seen and interacted with so many of those types of comments/accounts/bots over the years (and had my Windows 98 OS COMPLETELY destroyed by them due to my carelessness a long time ago), that I can easily tell at a glance.
I forgot about bots. I'm a dumbass. I apologize for being so rude and idiotic, you have a point though and I didn't think about it enough before commenting. Sorry again, and have a good one.
What a shitty comment. When you see that most of the games are with male characters, you can actually ask yourself if you're just an ass to say that sort of thing. I think you can keep this type of opinion to yoursefl in the future because it's a really egocentrist, sexist and stupid way to think.
Irulan has a point. You're not being a hero by pointing shit like this out, if anything you seem dumber than the original comment cause you're actually buying into it. By saying what you just said you just add gas to the already burning fire, not help it. IGNORE IT. This dude can't hurt you with a bunch of dumb words or comments.
When someone acts like a moron, the one thing you don't do, is act like a moron yourself. Now you came across as one of those SJW idiots who live in a completely deluded reality all their own.
You're right! I'm saddened by my own lack of patience or empathy against this type of people, and acting like one after. Totally unproductive and stupid of me reacting like that. Sorry for that! Will do better next time :)
So if I'm acting with impulsivity and saying that guy is a sexist and all, I'm a moron, and after that apologising because I think that yeah I've reacted the wrong way and I recognize that yeah, I've been a jerk to do so... I'm a typical SJW who bend the knee, whitout integrity? Wow people are really a bunch of jerks always ready to say something mean 'cause they've nothing esle to do except judging and spitting their bile on others. You're the one acting like a big moron here judging an apology to be an absence of integrity. Look at yourself before pointing others, you're really not a exemple.
This makes me think of that Harry Potter meme: "But last year I had x amount of games with male protags!" You literally have thousand of games where the main story is about a dude or you have a choice of playing either gender.
Eh, some people do. I certainly don't for the most part. It isn't fair to demand that they don't care like we do or try to burn them at the stake for being either a "sexist" or an "sjw". We should be past the fucking stakes entirely. Though to be fair it's the sjws wanting them back.
maybe you should play rpg game dude _ like maybe elder scroll and fallout or something, and regardless this game isn't really design to be the game with character customization
I'd say it's the other way around. Path Of Neo might have had more cinematic gameplay, and it did reasonably well translating the action from the movies to the combat in the games, but it has, unfortunately, not aged well. And the bad direction the story in the movies took after the first Matrix didn't help. Control, on the other hand, while it does have combat that is a bit less cinematic/less of a spectacle, the concept behind the powers, the world building and character building are what make up for it. It is a much more interesting universe/multiverse to explore than the version of The Matrix universe in Path Of Neo. EDIT: That said, a complete REMAKE of Path Of Neo - basically remake the story from The Matrix from after the first movie onward, and apply modern character-action game knowledge to it - would be AMAZING.
Path of Neo was, objectively speaking, a crappy game -- and an even worse Matrix game. Do not misconstrue my initial comment for the shilling of a mediocre game through the prism of nostalgia... That was not my motive. As a game, PoN's gameplay was much more style and indulgence, than substance and reward (kind of like most modern games, ironically enough); with its shooting mechanics being utter trash. Even the "path" the player took was asinine: from the story of Neo, to fighting EDF style giant ants and a "Trashformer" mecha-Smith! Full Retarded Achievement: UNLOCKED! A Matrix game should be open-world, multiplayer game (*not an MMO, in the derogatory sense), with very solid melee, firearms and driving gameplay; as well as free, unfettered exploration, and full character customisation and the underlying "two realities" mechanic therewith. As such PoN failed on almost every level... Even though it was mildly amusing to play for a time. For its era (Ps2 / Xbox), PoN was serviceable. The very pertinent advantage of the game being the only one of its kind for its time, accounts for most of its warmish reception... Albeit, and not unlike the premise of the films, its ideas were well before their time (technologically speaking), and suffered / were largely unrealised as such. Control, on the other hand, is like a PoN that is well after its time. Had this game come out in the 00's, it would have turned heads. Today, it just ticks all the boxes. 🎖️
"it's not an awful game" like the game is bad at all... call of duty is better story and all, I'm sure. A game that original, with a gameplay that good can only be juged of "not awful" lol You've killed me.
after a bit of messing around I found that if you go into the game folder, then steam_settings>870780>remote that's where the save files are kept, I'll edit if I can transfer them successfully
If you don't have a NASA gaming computer, better stop downloading now. In order to somewhat enjoy this game with a good look and fps you need insane hardware requirements. The recommended hardware requirements are non accurate. my friend bought a new gaming pc with those specs: Processor: Intel Core i7-8750H 6 Core Processor (9MB Cache, 2.2GHz-4.1GHz) 45W RAM: 32GB DDR4 2666MHz Hard Drive: 500GB NVMe Solid State Drive + 1TB 5400rpm Hard Disk Drive Operating System: Windows 10 Home x64 Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5 Display: 15.6" 144Hz 3ms Full HD IPS Slim Bezel Display (1920 x 1080) He was able to run control back when it came out with 30 fps best on between minimum to medium settings but that is it. we had to turn off particles effect and downgrade shadows, reflections and more, after 30 mins of trying to enjoy the game at that state we deleted it. he can run every new game with good graphics and fps but this one, it's insane. you truly need a mega ultra giga lightspeed sublime gaming pc to even reach optimal graphics with 60 fps. so disappointing
Playing at the best quality with GTX1660 Super + Ryzen 5 2600X and more than 50 fps, enough for me, but kinda strange... Maybe because the CPU has 2.2 GHz base speed and because it's an i7 8750"H"?
After checking out I truly think the day one version requirements was different as many sites complained about the system requirements , I can't forget how badly it ran, I will try to run it again with this new ultimate release
I've tried it on a very lightweight rig (9400f @2.7, 1050TI 4G, 16G RAM DDR4 2400) and it runs great 40 some FPS all on high BUT at a low resolution (1360x768). If you wanna go HD (1080p) or higher then ok you need a good GPU/CPU. Don't be greedy people !
i had pretty solid fps while maxing out this game with 9700k and gtx1080 but i use hdd instead of ssd so it had a lot of stutters, so far this is the only game where ssd make difference
I checked some articles, we downloaded the game on day one, it seems like later there was a post patch that lowered the requirements, I have no idea how did it affect the experience. we could've played the game but on less than average graphic experience with good fps, so we decided not to.
This works on me.
Every time i play the game this is what I'm doing, like every time.
i tried regular continue with no setting of affinity to 2 cpus and windowed, the game freeze. so this is what i do.
After CONTINUE works, i then set the affinity back to my regular 12 cpus and have it fullscreen
But it's boring to do it every time, but better than nothing !
Totally wasted Download.
