i already finished the game at 100% completition its a ok game but very basic metroidvania the arcade mode turns the game into a roguevania but very meh compared to dead cells
You know, I'm tired of all these 'updates' for the most basic shit. These games often don't even provide changelogs or advertise their updates. Physical games used to have to be perfect on release.. and at most those games made only one or two later revisions for serious bug fixes (or in some cases, censorship). Chasm here has had like 20+ updates and all for what, it's still garbage. So honestly, fuck them. Once a game fails initially it's almost impossible to fix in updates. Like No Man's Sky.
I agree to an extent, but some games do end up fixing all the serious issues, sometimes transforming from trash to gold. As long as its easy to find up-to-date versions, you can just wait a bit until playing that game.
Yeah, the whole 'release first, patch later' sucks, but for us pirates, we already have plenty of games to play while waiting for that game's devs to make patches.
It's a bit different with older PS3/Xbox 360 games, because the patches came as external downlods, and pirate sites may only have the base ISO and not the extra bug fixes. Now that's a bigger problem.
Never Knew This Game Existed, Until I Watched (Good Game Spawn Point) Replay Today On Australian Network. Yeah! Great Game By The Way. I Found It Very Interesting To Play, Simple And Yet Awesome! Thanks IGG For The Post.
i beat the game in like 5-6 hours or so. It's not that it is impossible. it's that it was overly frustrating on a basic mechanics level. I mean have you never played any other platformer games? Even the above average ones would blow your damn mind if you think this game has good platforming
Finished the game. It was fun to play and scratched my metroidvania itch, but I felt that the procedural generation fell short. All it does is move the room pieces around, but the pieces themselves are handcrafted, as well as all the enemies/bosses/items/people. It's not like you'll see new room types on your second playthrough, they'll just be arranged differently. There's more replayability with difficulties and character builds than there is with the proc gen. The game is fairly challenging, especially late-game, but I still recommend playing on Hard difficulty if you are used to this genre.
Anyone finished the game? I am stuck near the last map...i need a second gem for a lion statue to open a gate but cant find it. and i have 3 quests to do but cnat find items
You need to finish the Arena. The reward is a device to dive and you could access to a place in garden with a lake. Rescue princess and she will open a door in the tavern with the second light gem.
I didn't need to open that 2 gem door to beat the game. Just bring the shadow gem to the room in Gardens with the slot in the wall. Also, quest items are often dropped by certain monsters. check the Bestiary.
You realize that games "used to be" bad, right? Especially platformers. The jumping was horrible in most of them because gaming was new, and not yet given the time to develop proper fun mechanics just yet. This is why a lot of games that sell themselves as "going back to how games used to be" fail. Because games used to be bad. How about instead of name calling you actually add some substance? Like explain WHY the game is good, despite the things i listed. You also assume a lot. Never once did i say i want games to be easy. I want games to be FUN. You know, the entire reason they exist? The souls games are fun not because they are hard, but because they are well made, and you know that when you fail, you fail due to your own mistake, not the game placing a bunch of spikes on a while that pop up every 2 seconds while needing 3 seconds to make the jump around them, meaning you get fucking hit no matter how fast you are. It's the platformer equivalent to a hitscan enemy. No matter what you do, you are gonna take dmg. And that is bad game design. I've also progressed fairly far, i'm in the keep level at the moment, and the problems keep growing the more i go. It was bad but at least enjoyable when the only thing i needed was the spike gloves to ledge climb, but the addition of the parachute and climbing gear, and the puzzles that require them, just has made things unenjoyable. If they took out these two things, and all the jumps that need them, the game would be fine, not great, not close to like the levels of hollow knight or something, but good. The pin point accurate jumps would be bearable at least.
I have now beaten the game. Got 90% complete, only missed finding the dog i think. At the very end they give you an item that gets rid of most my above issues, but obviously too late. Literally, the last and smallest area of the game gives you the ability to double jump, but by then you've already played through everything so it's of no use in the headeache areas of the game. Had they added this to begin with, or just not added the parachute or wall climbing sections it would have been an okay game, not great, but okay. My suggestion for anyone wanting to play this, do not explore. If a section is too hard, ignore it and go where you need to complete the story, then once you do and want to get stuff you missed go for it, because the double jump makes the game actually enjoyable by getting rid of the need for pin point accurate jumps.
C é BR? Conseguisse rodar como? To com problema de jogar Chasm. Já baixei em tudo que é lugar e sempre aparece "Chasm parou de funcionar". E olhe que já instalei tudo que me recomendaram.
It's not working here. I successfully installed but when I try to open nothing happens. Already tried running the game with admin privileges but still didn't work. Anyone else is having the same issue?
um, it's just his overall opinion of the game. Why are you calling him a cry baby though? is that really necessary when your first statement was enough: "the game is CHALLENGING." yet you added words that is toxic. Not a good example in this community. Change that will you?
There's a difference between challenging and frustrating. A challenging game makes it feel like it is your fault when you fail, rather than the game's. Mechanics like knockback only serve to artificially increase difficulty.
This game does a lot of good, but fails in the key point. The platforming is terrible. It starts off okay enough, but the further you get the sooner you realize how bad it really is. You need to have exact accuracy in your jumps very quickly into the game. While avoiding enemies, and traps. And there is knockback so if you do get hit, you'll miss the jump and need to start over, and in some areas this means a huge climb back up. Some of the abilities you get to climb different areas is also odd, the climbing gear being the main one i have issue with. You need to jump and hold the arrow in the direction of the wall, all good there. But you slide while doing this so you need to quickly jump and hit the other wall, but you need to change arrows mid jump to do this or you end up going back to the wall you jumped from. Doing this while sliding, and at times while enemies or wall traps are hindering you means you are trying to time all of this at once, all while needing to have EXACT accuracy in these jumps, or you miss and have to do all of it again. I've played a lot of platformers before, and none have caused this much irritation, and finger pain as this one. If they would just fix the platforming, leave at least a itty bit of room for error in some of the jumps, then it would be good. But in the current state, the platforming is just irritating, and hurts your fingers due to the constant having to shift directions and jumping in time with traps/pitfalls/enemies.
For those who are having issues with the installer, maybe it's the program that was installed by your internet banking. Many banks use Warsaw. ;) Cheers
Actually you don't. This won't work ALL the time, but in many cases you can "open" an ISO with winrar and extract the files to a specific folder. Then run the installer from that folder.
Even though I install poweriso, then extract the Chasm> add to disk 1> go to missing media. Then I click to install and it gives the same thing. Nothing done. :(
Didn't work...Even though I install poweriso, then extract the Chasm> add to disk 1> go to missing media. Then I click to install and it gives the same thing. Nothing done. :(
If you're using another tool to install the Chasm. You have to download POWERISO to install the game. After you install it, you have to restart the PC or Laptop to use "Mount" to install the Chasm.
In some cases you can "extract" the files to a specific folder via Winrar. Now this only circumvents the need for poweriso or the like. It won't help if the installer is being a dick.
Yeah that isn't the problem. Both Daemon Tools and POWERISO both don't change the fact the installer refuses to actually do any installing, even after waiting upwards of 40 minutes.
You dislike it, that's fine. Each their own. But considering the amount of "shit" games that come out, asset flips with no effort, missing .exe files , unplayable or with no unique style. This game cannot be classed as one it has attention to detail all over whether you like it or not.
Just because there exist games that are not even games doesn't mean this one doesn't also fall into the category of bad. The game looks nice. The premise is nice. The layout is also nice. Boss fights and powers are good. But one MAJOR thing turns what should be a good or great game, into trash. The platforming. The platforming in this is HORRIBLE. One of the worst I have ever seen. Here are some examples of what i mean. First, you need to be EXACTLY at an edge and jump to make some of the leaps the game wants you to make. This on top of enemies placed on said platforms and if they hit you, they knock you around. Meaning if you don't get needle point accuracy on your jump AND avoid enemies or traps, you miss the jump. There is zero room for error in the jumping. Second, some of the abilities are just strange in how they work. The climbing gear for example, when you jump on a wall you need to move facing that wall, and then jump and quickly press the opposite direction mid jump in order to do it again. And you need to do this over and over up long pits. And some of these pits start where you once again must get EXACT accuracy to even begin the climb from the bottom platform. Finally you also need to avoid enemies and traps on some of these areas. Like one section literally has spikes on both sides of the wall, and not only do you get hurt while they are out, but also while they are going back in, and they cover so much of the wall that while trying to jump and move each direction each jump, and do so over and over, you have to try and time it all to the spike traps or get knocked back down each time, not to mention taking a bunch of dmg when this happens. These guys fucked up the key point to a game like this, the platforming. And it kills it. All the good things this game does do not matter because the main mechanic is bad.
I've played browser games more fun than this (metroidvania Momodora for example). If you want a good metroidvania game play Unworthy. Chasm is only beautiful, thats all. If devs wanted good game with good mechanics they should hire someone who can do it, now whats left is an interactive pixel art. PS. Look at the steam reviews, i'm not the only one.
see where the google drive link has /uc? then an ID? replace "uc" with "open", this will take you to a new page. Now you need to be signed into any Google Account, Then at the top right click "Add to my Drive" after doing this click "My Drive" this will open a popup to your personal google drive storage. Then Right click the file you added and click "make a copy" then right click the COPIED version and click "Download" this will work 100% just take "Copy of" out of the filename. After your done, delete both from your google drive to keep doing it. have fun lad.
Google search the answer to your problem...getting tired of telling people to change part of the link to open, add to your own google drive and to make a copy of that file before downloading over and over again...
You have to install properly or else I'ts not gonna work. Only you have to do is Apply the Crack on the Install Menu, then u can play right now. If you encounter some problems like OpenGL2.1 is required or some sort. You have to download this OPENGL 2.1 ASA (OPENGL32.dll or OPENGL64.dll) 32bit or 64bit. Paste it on Chasm Folder. Then play the game. You can download here: https://goo.gl/UXJe2C
SKIDROW's installer have NOT been working for a lot of people. After launching the installer and trying to install the game, the installer just sits there with no progress. Running as Administrator does not solve this issue.
Missing something. Probably need to update something. Works fine on my win7 pc, but won’t start on my win10 pc. My win10 pc is not updated and is missing a bunch of other files.
Can't start the game Could not find a suitable graphics device, Open GL 2.1 support is required. GTX1080 with newest drivers, all common reddist installed.

Is it nuked?. No, it works (at least on my machine).
Btwif you can play and you see one of those images, take a damn photo!.

If you want to make it smoother, just Low the Resolution.
