lol what a joke those specs for GBA games the emulated version with 512 mb ram you are more than fine and all the roms together are less than 100 mbs and pretty likely you can play all of them online too if you have a good machine
I don't see the point of this comming to PC. It's so easy to emulate these games and make them look better via said emulators. Konami really out here trying to pray on people's nostalgia.
It's as you said. This entire collection is an emulator with only 4 games inside.
Why would they bother recoding to be used natively on Windows or Switch ? Headache of a work. They already done that not only for this collection, it's almost for all older games running on actual consoles/PC.
After that, it's a question of taste. Some guys just don't want to get through these emulators, this collection is install and play without any configuration needed wich is more convenient for thoses who don't know emulators world paid or not.
to put it simply, it's to pray on your nostalgia. Capcom does it, Konami does it and plenty of other companies do it. Heck earlier this year Capcom released a whole bunch of compilations of old arcade games of theirs, stuff you can easily emulate on PC, all to make money off your nostalgia
They aren't. On emulator you hit a key on they keyboard to reverse. On this you have to go through menus and shit, at least if it's the same way as it's done on the switch
What is with this thinking? Why not release it on PC?? Because Konami don't make money off people emulating their games? So there is an official way to play it on PC? So more people can play it? Jeez dude.
They're already selling it on consoles so not making money is not a problem for them. No official way to play it on PC? Oh boo hoo, what is Konami going to do to you for using an emulator? Arrest you? This is nothing more than a cash grab preying on your nostalgia and that is something companies need to quit doing.
It is impressive that they put a 10MB pack of three games into something that is 500MB and resell it in a high price. What are they putting inside the game? Bitcoin miner?
High price? 20,-€? Every single game in this collection is worth more. Seriously, some people here really have no relation to reality anymore, and as soon as it costs more than nothing, it's a high price. Start buying games for once, maybe you'll see clear afterwards.
A single game is sold at 8eur/game, so 3 games worth 24eurs. It is only 15% discount for a pack of 3 games. It is still expensive for me. What I expect is around 5 eurs for each of these retro game (this is a resell without any upgrade, so it should be cheap compared to modern retro games). Also, the bundle with only 15% off is still expensive. Look at Don't Starve and many of the popular games, their bundles are around 35%.
Yes, I buy games after I have tried them from * and IGG.
Lastly, my main concern is not totally about the high price. What I want to know is why it is up to 500MB. I can see they add cards, wiki and stuffs inside, but 500MB is still a lot much.
These games absolutely aren't sold for 8,-€ per game. It's hard to find them at all these days, and you also won't find them new, except you are willing to pay over 100,-€ per game.
The higher sice could be anything, starting from the 2 startup logos. The "new version" of "Doom 64" did the same thing... it happens... get over it and don't call it "main concern".
Aria of Sorrow is definitely worth playing, I didn't play the other two much but they're good as far as I know. Two words though:
EMULATE THEM.
There's basically no point in using this collection on PC, honestly: just grab VisualBoyAdvance for ex. and get a good ROM or even one of the ROMhacks that have QoL improvements/fixes. The only reason I can see anyone using this is if they're so intimidated by basic emulation that they'd rather play a pre-packaged version.
Aria of Sorrow was my first own game on my first own portable console. Back then I had to wait for my brother to not play to be able to get my hands on his gameboy advance, but I got the gameboy advance SP and a bit later my mom got a 2 in 1 castlevania cartridge. One of which was Aria of Sorrow, and I spent a ton of time and 100% it, while the other one I barely touched because it was too hard for 9/10 yo me x)

I - d3dx9_42.dll and XINPUIT1_3.dll errors
"Reinstall the program may fix the problem". Can anyone help me to fix it ?

"The only reason I can see anyone using this is if bla bla fucking blaaaaaa."
Great mindset you have there, tenouttaten.
And besides, emulators can just randomly decide not to work. Has happened to me before.
