Some people say that SKIDROW releases and some others are not safe, so I think I will answer once here, so that in the future I can point to this comment for convenience.

  • You can say that this "xyz" release contains a virus, you have downloaded hundreds of things here, never like that: Yes, first, thank you for trusting us. Maybe you have not downloaded enough, because there are quite a lot of games on this site, all SKIDROW releases and some other groups are like that. SKIDROW has released thousands of games => thousands of games here are like that, not just "xyz" games :D.

  • You need to clearly distinguish between P2P groups and SCENE GROUPS (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warez_scene ). P2P groups are cracked by users like you, or me, maybe it is not safe. Meanwhile, SCENE groups have been around for decades, even before you were born, I'm not exaggerating :D. They are the source of pirates, most of the EMUs (Cracking Tools) used by P2P, also come from SCENE, or some members of SCENE. They are almost safe, if not 100% safe, because of their strict rules, if a group releases a virus, it will definitely be removed from SCENE. One more thing, don't confuse SCENE GROUPS with fake websites of their name, SCENE never has a website, they only upload releases via FTP servers,... so you don't need to look for SCENE websites, because it doesn't exist.

  • You can say that other people's "xyz" game is not marked as a virus, while SKIDROW's is marked as a virus, please upload another release: Yes, it is possible, because it is simply using another EMU (crack). But I don't see the need to upload it again, because as mentioned above. Also, as you need to know, in recent years, when AI is developed, anti-virus (AV) not only scans for viruses, but also scans for cracked files. AV databases store information about cracks, setup files in hash form, if they scan for the existence of these files, it will warn of viruses. This will often happen with EMUs that have a long life. For example, the following emus:

    • ALI213 (P2P): currently all are warned as viruses, while many years ago, it was not like that.

    • 3DM (P2P): now all are warned as viruses, while many years ago, it was not.

    • SKIDROW (SCENE): now all are warned as viruses, while many years ago, it was not.

    • ...

    • Or until recently, the experimental version of Goldberg was also warned as a virus. Goldberg is a popular EMU used today, dozens of other P2P sites and uploaders are using it. They have released the open source code, anyone can view it, of course it is safe. You can see a fork of Goldberg here https://github.com/Detanup01/gbe_fork. In the future, AVs may gradually blacklist almost all EMUs. At that time you might say that almost all games here contain viruses (and all other websites too), because all websites, uploaders now use the same few SCENE and P2P Emus. The future will be like this, to crack a game => you need to use a cracked file? of course => but almost all crack files are warned as viruses => you are afraid to use them, but at the same time you can't find any cracks that are not warned as viruses => you'd rather buy the game.

  • A side note, SCENE not only publishes games, but also software, anime, movies, tv, music,... in general, almost everything that can be pirated on the internet. So if you think SCENE is not safe, then you better not pirate anymore. If SCENE really spreads viruses, then that will be the end of pirates. If you trust SCENE, then the best way when downloading a release from any site (not just this IGG site), you can check if the file you download is a SCENE release (I mean unmodified), by checking the CRC32 hash of the files (e.g. .iso,...) with tools like 7z, against information from scene database sites, like www.srrdb.com/, for example:

Reloaded and Skidrow are "time-honored brand" in term of warez/scene group, that's for sure.

Most of SCENE GROUPS releases have been like this for the past few months bro. AV not only scans for viruses, but also for pirated files. Click on the "RELATIONS" tab, you will see a company called "MarkMonitor Inc.", it is the biggest anti-piracy company in the world right now. Their bot automatically scans all files from SCENE GROUPS, sending the hash of the scene files to the AV database. That's why you see most of the AVs warning, labeled "Hack", "Hacktool", "Crack",...

One more thing, this is a SCENE release (What is Scene? you should search the wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warez_scene and google about this, they will explain it better than me). In general, the scene is decades old, certainly older than you (and me). It is completely safe. All the pirates you download from the internet, including movies, games, software, music, anime... are mostly leaked from the Scene. In other words, most uploaders re-upload from SCENE. If SCENE uploads the virus, then it will surely be the end of pirates.

In case you want to check exactly if these files are valid, you can use predb sites, for example: https://www.srrdb.com/browse/category:pc/order:date-desc/1. You use some popular software like 7z to get the CRC-32 hash of the file you just downloaded, compare it with the information on predb site, if they match then you are safe.

Doesn't really explain why every other crack hasn't had this issue so far but this title's crack being flagged on download, is there no one else cracking this? I don't think I can trust skidrow. (If that's the one who's cracked it's name)

Ill just copy/paste who skidrow really is and why they indeed are "relevant" ...this info is from the scene wiki that it seems you missed...
in any case, alot of games are released by skidrow (seemed slow alot now days) but nearly any title ive ever tried from them always worked. -did not try this game however, and my antivirus software is set to "exclude" the entire drive any game goes on since i only use trusted sources.

SKIDROW is a well-known cracking group originally formed in 1990, cracking games for the Amiga platform, and having used the motto "Twice the Fun - Double the Trouble!" since then. A piece of cracktro software released by SKIDROW in 1992 with the game 10 Pinball Fantasies contained a complete list of their membership at the time.[75] The most recent incarnation of SKIDROW began releasing unauthorized copies of games in June 2007, when they announced their return to cracking software.[76] They were the first scene group to crack the version of Ubisoft's Uplay DRM which required players to have a persistent Internet connection to Ubisoft's licensing servers, first in Assassin's Creed II[77] and then in Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.

The group has released cracks for Denuvo Anti-Tamper protected games, Yesterday Origins and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - A Criminal Past. It is believed the former had a bad implementation of Denuvo which made it easier to reverse engineer, mostly due to a lack of support from Denuvo for protecting games written in C# and specifically games using the Unity game engine, with this lack of support having been previously demonstrated by an anonymous independent cracker having developed a crack for Syberia 3, which also used Unity. The crack for the latter was actually determined to be a modified executable file from the game Deus Ex: Breach, a free game which did not incorporate Denuvo's software, released by the same developers and utilizing the same engine, which had been modified slightly to load the assets from Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. A plurality of SKIDROW's current releases are cracked versions of games that make use of Steam licensing.[78]

In July 2017, in a statement released to commemorate their 10th consecutive year of releases since re-emerging in the PC game cracking scene, SKIDROW made cryptic remarks that the techniques used by CONSPIR4CY, STEAMPUNKS, and members of the Steam Underground warez forum to crack modern copy protections are not proper.[23] These criticisms were themselves criticized on the web, as SKIDROW's apparent standards for a proper crack would seemingly disqualify both their most notable crack of Ubisoft's persistent online connection requiring DRM, which they emulated, and their most recent notable release of a Denuvo-protected game, which they cracked by modifying the executable from another game.[79]

I just disabled windows anti virus. It's pretty much garbage anyway. It's long known to be less effective then outside anti virus programs and stopping you from getting cracks (like this one).

The "Setup" seems suspicious but does not cause any problems, it is a wrong identification of WinDef.

However, the game is completely corrupted even if it appears to be re-downloaded.

I can't find my post that maybe has been deleted, it was just a warning for others; in any case, I'm not very interested in Skidrow's story, I only know that the W11 "Defender", at the beginning of the unpacking, on the "setup.exe" file reported a trojan classifying the danger as serious because it was one of the trojans that enable external access to the local computer. I stopped the unpacking and immediately deleted the file, so I don't remember the name of the Trojan and I'll just point it out, if it's important to you leave the warning, otherwise do as you like.

You use pirate, but you don't want to understand pirate, then at some point you will get a virus. I have been working in the security industry for more than 20 years, we often say "A file that is warned dozens of times on virustotal is usually safer than a file that is not warned at all on virustotal". Yes, it is true, we can easily create viruses that cannot be warned by any AV if we really intend to. On the contrary, it will be difficult to create an installer using InnoSetup without being warned by AV.

The best, equip yourself with basic knowledge of pirate and don't trust anyone, once you understand, you can download anything you want. Young people today are lazy to read knowledge that only takes 5 minutes, but can be applied for a long time...

I have NOT complained about anything, I know I use pirated stuff and when the system reported a trojan I tried to warn other users to do a good thing (because trojans are not necessarily inserted by malicious people, they can also be surveillance) everything else is empty chatter. I have already had some viruses and will some more come? It is certain that it will happen but that is precisely the reason for not trusting and trashing everything if there is a warning.

if you know pirate, you wouldn't be warned like that, because skidrow (and some others) installers have always been like that, at least for more than 30 years. I guess you're not a programmer either, so if you want to try, try using InnoSetup (a popular and well-known tool used by almost everyone) to create some simple installer, you'll see AV warn about the very thing you created
