No lie, this might be the most immersive military strategy I have ever played. Even the "1-hour-tutorial" missions are actually part of the gameplay, made so you, as a new first lieutenant, go through bootcamp missions that simulate real life combat that you will take in the future, while an umpire below orders and criticism alike from the sideline, depending on what you do and how well you do it.
You thought you did the bootcamp mission and took the objective exceedingly well and quick? Nope, you missed the point of the training and under-utilized your men so they are still green and useless in future combat, and your umpire will chew you for it. You thought you utilized the fastest route to get to your crew with the your limited movement range? Nope, the umpire will chew you out once again because you did not account for sniper and moved across hexes without cover.
You can tell this is a passion project from the devs, based on the amount of details and research they put in this game. Legit the most fun I had in months. Planning to buy this on steam once I have enough disposable money to support the devs and for the constant updates.
"Engagements: War of 1812 Mexican War Indian Wars War with Spain American Civil War Philippine–American War World War I World War II Korean War Vietnam War (3rd Battalion Only) Battle of Cholon and Phú Thọ Racetrack Persian Gulf War Iraq War War in Afghanistan"
NONE of the cottonbalers wars have been justified, after the first one
