I love roguelike games (a bit tired of them too though) and I understand that the core mechanic is that when you die, you start over with no items at all. (there are a few exceptions) But in this game, it feels very frustrating for some reason. I just picked up some nice weapon or something (I didn't even have time to check) and I got instantly killed by a super fast enemy... And I just didn't feel like starting over and killing 300 more enemies to try to get that weapon again... I would have loved if this game had some kind of progression like Rogue Legacy or something... Not for me.
As soon as you start the game, you literally spawn left beneath that guy with a wrench in his hand and a neon-sign above him. :) This is the guy where you spend these orange things (not the money) and you keep these things and your upgrades after dying. And yes, these are my favourite roguelikes too. :)
You made me doubt so I checked again. Nope, on my side it doesn't save the money I gained from the last play. It would have changed everything for me and I would have enjoyed the game much more...
oh i am sorry, i mean it doesnt save money, i think it auto corrected, yeah you are right, if the money is saved then it would be more interesting. Check YT videos of it, actually in their videos it saves money. i dont know which version are they playing?
Actually I noticed something... When I died, I had to choose between "restart" and "main menu". But it feels like "restart" just starts completely over with no money at all... So maybe the save feature doesn't work properly... Maybe the game isn't properly cracked or something... It seems that only people who play the cracked version have this problem.
It's an upgrade you buy at the workshop. It lets you keep money after dying and everything bought in the workshop is permanently saved for you. You need this orange currency to buy something there, also, this currency is saved after death.
Ty for update!

It seems like you can keep the other corrency for the workshop after dying to buy yourself perma upgrades.
My favorite roguelikes (roguelites?) use perma-progression. :)
