About the game doesn't unlocking the extra content when finished, the developers said it's a glitch with the steam overlay settings. The game only unlock stuff when the same option is set on. They are fixing it for a future near update. Until then, it's just wait.
Hmmm I remember playing this one as well a very long time ago. But what were the main differences between Probotector and Contra Hard Corps? I don't remember them being vastly different. I think Hard Corps didn't have some top-down view levels like Contra III.
I don't know why but for me, Contra has always been the epitome of hardcore difficulty. (Hell, even Ghouls'n'ghosts is easy compared to Contra.) I just played Contra III (Super Probotector) on Super Nintendo to compare, and I would say that overall, Blazing Chrome is much better. I love the fluid animations, level design, explosions, weapons variety... And as for the difficulty, it's the same. Which means that noob players like me literally die every 5 seconds.(not exaggerating. I really die every 5 seconds, in the best cases.) It's totally unplayable for me. I'll never understand why I can complete any Metal Slug game on one continue only, and I can't survive more than 5 seconds in Contra, and now Blazing Chrome, which has more or less the same gameplay. This is so fucking frustrating... No game has ever spanked my ass harder than this one...😭 I just don't understand what's wrong with the way I play. Is it only a matter of remembering bullet patterns? Naaah it's not a shmup. Or I just lighting-fast reflexes? TIP : you are invincible when you slide down.😉 But anyway, nostalgic fans of Contra (and maybe even new players who are interested in the run'n'gun genre) will be in heaven.😍 Just be prepared for the real hardcore difficulty.
I played one of the Battletoads games on Super Famicom a long time ago. I forgot the exact name, bu it was a beat'em up though, not a run'n'gun. Music was very nice, but gameplay was a bit repetitive.
I've had rough times with that damn death ramp level on battletoads nes on emulators, even as a kid on our old television I had to work really hard to get it down since you not only had to memorize the track but you needed lightning reflexes lol. I beat it by the second day, the game, I beat most nes games the day or day after I got em (we rented a lot for that reason sometimes) but that particular level in battletoads is one of the hardest in a game I remember playing. even when I learne dit again in an emulator as an adult, the latency on modern displays just makes it really tough for me to deal with and I don't have the mindset to try it 100 times in a row like I had when I was a kid any more lol. arcade contra which I played was really hard, but nes contra was pretty easy even without the code once you got used to it. my dad and I played it every day and there were a few times we looped it 6,7,8 times in a row (credits and all of course) without dying and without the konami code wracking up extra lilves through our scores each loop. We had little trouble beating it at least a couple or few times without a death usually, our record for no deaths was 9 times one night iirc. lifeforce was also another fun konami nes co-op game, it was basically co-op gradius with some vertical levels in between the side scroller levels kinda like super c also had. My uncle had lifeforce and I played it a bit there. good memories.
Yeah, co-op battletoads was even harder than single player because friendly fire was a thing, and if one of you messed up you both had to start from the last checkpoint. DX
It's a compelling thing to question your skill as a player in these tough as nails shoot em ups. It may be about having to fit in the mold as opposed to breaking the mold in the way of playing Contra/Slug/Ghouls types. As for Blazing Chrome I have to commend the developers for making such an enjoyable throwback.
You can beat Metal Slug 3 on only one credit? That I would love to see ;) This game is exactly what old bastards like me are looking for. Beautiful sprite-based pattern-bukkake'd twitch gameplay with no fucks given ;) Contra NES I can beat on one life. Can't wait to see what I can do with this amazing game
Wow Contra Nes in one life? See, you're much better than me! I don't know, I think that the Contra games require some special skills. ha ha Yeah, for me, the Metal Slug are not hard because I'm used to play them since the late 90s, when a friend in high school gave me the best gift of my life : a NeoGeo emulator with 100 games on a CD.😅 (second best gift was a supernes emulator with +500 games... Back then, I didn't even know what emulation was...lol big surprise) Now I play these games to relax. ha ha
I could one-life Contra when I was younger...I'm a wee bit rusty now lmao! I think that the kind of inertia-based controls in Metal Slug throw me off a bit, but the games are gotdamn good anyways (especially 3) :D I remember someone giving me a cd with an SNES emulator and a bunch of games that ran on the Dreamcast. It was pretty awful emulation, but I was in awe being able to play those games on the DC!
Good. At least I see I'm not the only one who loses many lives in that damn second level, especially with these stupid jumping bikes or whatever this is.😅 I'm starting to think that maybe the developers should make the game easier, or at least add an easy mode.
:-D If you liked my video, please do subscribe for future content like these. And I agree that there should be an even easier mode of people like us who suck at gaming.
Yeah, downloaded it. There was a suspicious looking file that was the only thing that was causing my antivirus to go off, so I tried letting it just delete that one weird file and running - worked like a charm.
it even harder than contra some how. honestly even the weakest enemy can take 3-5 hits to kill. and when come to boss...well...this game really has one hell of the boss that can tank tons of bullets before it can die. something that i not see in any contra series.
Everything is tested and scanned before being uploaded, this website is virus free. If you get a trojan, it's false positive, like explained http://igg-games.com/virus-trojan.html.
Yeah, it really look like Contra, another game on the waiting list xD Recently, i bought, on sales of course: Blaster Master Zero, Timespinner, Aggelos, Touhou: Luna Nights, Katana ZERO and Rabi-Ribi and a lot more...
Lmao, oh come on u can finish it in one sit ;) dont archive it like the rest XD well at lest we know u will be busy when old to play them but the problem is there will be hardware for u to play them? :P

What was the name of the file?

they captured very well the essence of contra and metal slug
it looks like a sega game with the sfx
Old style... i like!
never had this happen to me with other downloads on this webside
still a false positiv?
i think i downloaded the right file?
Maybe important for some reason :)
