This is hot garbage. The movement is clunky, the combat is terrible, there's no fun to be had here. If you enjoy backpedaling while you slap enemies with weightless weapons that have zero feedback and do pitiful damage, then this may be the game for you. It's also quite buggy, which is expected but detracts further from the experience. Pity, because the visuals are remotely interesting. Stay away from this, it's not even worth the time it takes to look at it.
Hi I am the developer. Thanks for ripping my game ;). Valid points you mention. The game started as a prototype and I though I just put it one step further and create a fully fledged game. It's also my first commercial game ever and was a one man project. I am working my bones off for my next game and invest like 100 times more then in this tiny project. This game was just a experimenting sandbox. I am glad you ripped it here for free, I would have hated it, if you payed money for it, feeling the way you described about it.
That's understandable, and I feel bad that you had to read through my very, very vile review. It's truly how I felt though, and it's good to see that you've taken the criticism so fairly. I'd recommend distributing these prototypes through platforms like Gamejolt and http://Itch.io which are a much better place to get some feedback over the over-saturated (and expensive to enter into) market that is Steam. Despite what I said, it's clear that there was care and effort put into it, mostly on the visuals, and it's part of the reason that I got immensely frustrated with how otherwise irredeemably bad it was. Good luck with your future projects, I'm sure they will fare much better. You already have one of the most important skills in any art, which is the ability to take criticism.

I also did not mean to put it on steam in the first place, but the CEO of the game engine I was using, offered his support to bring it on Steam. So I thougth hey why not, a good way to learn how steam works, to learn some marketing and have some practical experience with selling. The itch/gamejolt version still is available for free: https://phodex-games.itch.io/bladequest-the-first-chapter-en I would also love to avoid steam next time if possible in any way. So I can decrease the price (you know steam takes 30%) and people can get the game DRM free. We will see if it will work out. Steam has just so many costumers that it's still worth it.
GoG is the alternative to Steam I'd recommend. Lots of unaware indie devs are jumping into Epic's deals (a 10% cut and a bag of money for a timed exclusive sound very enticing) but they don't realize how terrible an idea it is. To quickly summarize, they're owned by a chinese mobile-game company called Tencent, who sells the already poorly protected user data that Epic's store collects, they have terrible review and return policies, and it seems their storefront doesn't even comply with European law. Fortnite and other big titles are getting them lots of attention, but I don't foresee them lasting long if they don't make massive changes.
