This is a very complex issue. A lot has to do with propaganda and behavioral control. First, it wants to make the male population docile as tame men and stupid men tend to be more easily manipulated and controlled. Men are the foremost when it comes to deconstruction and change, and most in power don't want that. You may see it as a conspiracy theory but it isn't. There is precedent and historical evidence to back this up. You won't see women hankering for a revolution or civil war.
Second, docile men are not attractive and usually are not competitive. There is a slight population control in this instance so that most females won't be attracted to average men and thereby lower the overall population on a global scale. It is compounded by inflation and overwork. Most rich folks also like their current lifestyle where they can sleep with whoever they want, if more than 60% of the population are married or involved, their selection becomes more narrow.
Third, Feminism and the whole SJW phenomenon.
Fourth, Beta males, as you would call it, prefer escape fantasies to deal with real life repression and suppression due to the violation of the social contract clause.
Fifth, It is ingrained in society that men are evil and women are fragile. Only problem with this is that men no longer enjoy the benefits that's attached to the stigma. ie: money, power, fame. The average man are in all retrospect equal to women when it comes to benefits, in fact, they enjoy much more so than the so-called men. However, on the other spectrum, women still expect men to be evil and heinous, only this time, there is no benefit to being with the evil. This makes a disparity on the cog in the wheel. I remember this one saying: Men are not naturally loved like women are for simple being, but only loved for how useful they are. This is pretty much how men are portrayed now. Back then, women depended on men. Now, the women is the one carrying the gun while we got de-fanged by the income gap and so are carrying wooden spears, but- women haven't changed and still expects to depend on men and wants them to protect her. In essence, they want a meatshield they can use and discard for a better one, as they have choices now.
Sixth, There are certain countries that exacerbate the growing epidemic, namely, China. Due to the fact that they have more males than females, females are inherently worth more than males are. Once a society is brainwashed to believe so, it'll become idiosyncratic and that seeps into the global outlook. Same applies to the western world when you consider how females are depicted in media compared to males. You probably have an inkling when you see how feminine the males are in Asia.
Point is: Men are not valued as a commodity as much so as women are. That creates a rift in balance that was previously there. The equality in the social contract was broken since women began to incite that they were not treated equally. If men tried to bridge that gap somehow, they'll be seen as a incel or misogynist due to prior history. Kinda like how a black person can be racist but a white person couldn't, due to prior history.
