Basically, a simple neat looting game for a bit. The exploration is pretty shallow and the base building is really lackluster. There is no story. Only worth playing if you really enjoy itemizing your character to make a broken build. The combat is pretty subpar, many enemies are unfair especially if you aggro many. Not sure if melee is viable at all, ranged is moderately unviable without AOE to clear easily. Mage fireball and chain lightning can delete everything on your screen while many other spells still not useful. You only unlock spells and passives from enemy drops (basically every enemy drops 1 skill or passive). After you clear the first boss you will have a key to open locked chests around the map and get lv10 legendary gear and rings (rings seem to not have level scaling and are all potentially good).

All your power comes from your gear as you don't get stat points or anything, so playing with drop gear on death can be obnoxious. Of the three archetypes to choose when you make a character (only thing you cant change) only pirate is worth anything, doubling item stacks and giving you a run ability (And I think this may cause you to get map interest markers further away). The Marine is quite useless and the scholar's teleport ability matters little when you can quit a world at any time and your position is saved, then load up another world where you built your base to deposit everything immediately, then load back into the other world you were exploring. Buffs and such remain between changing worlds so no reason not to do this.
