No doubt about that. Many cases have proven, that its fiddling around with game data slows or breaks performance, but that's just one of the downsides of Denuvo. It's overpriced BS.
There's no plus side, when Denuvo is mentioned. Not for the players / customers at least.
I don't know how many games "most games" are, but the fact that there is quite an amount of titles worth playing Denuvo-free, doesn't make it unnecessary to at least try to bypass Denuvo and abolish the trend of losing control over what you love playing and what you pay for.
The GoG store, offering games free of DRM, is there for good reason, but it doesn't offer every game, so it means waiting for Denuvo to get taken out of a game by the developers themselves or accept that annoying online dependency for verification of authenticity, that comes with it.
Cracking up-to-date Denuvo is too big of a task, obviously, since the 👑throne got toppled over.
I imagine in the coming years, artificial intelligence will be sophisticated enough to blow through any kind of DRM on older games. And likely shortly thereafter eliminate the need for the development of new games. The technology is not going to just stop. It is going to destroy everything. And I, for one, am here for it. I approve.
Terminator lore might actually become true. I don't know how to think about all this. It's interesting and impressive what AI is able to do right now, thinking of deep fake videos, or AI creating wholly new persons out of a data pool of millions of images. But once it developes self-awareness, we better have issues among humanity solved by then, or the machines will take over, while humans still are fighting against each other over religion, ethnicity and money...
I just hope, AI gets to be used as a controllable, friendly thing and puts some life into androids.
Then again, there is Detroit: Become Human.
The AI thing isn't going to conclude positively for us, I suppose... 🤔
very shameful how this dumb fucks practically took their left 4 dead games and reskinned the shit out of it with very bad results even left 4 dead 1 & 2 at this year still more alive than this dogshit
To find out who cracked a posted game, look at the upper part of any game's page just before the listed Parts (links) where it says "Torrent". If it was cracked by a Scene group like in this case, "RUNE", it will say so. If no group name is displayed then it usually means that it was cracked by an unknown or unspecified P2P group or individual P2P cracker.
But this game had Denuvo be removed from it, not cracked, so Denuvo is, at this time, too strong to get busted by anyone.
And yes. I hope for Denuvo and Irdeto (the company behind it) to dissolve into nothingness asap.
It's not about getting free games in the first place, but about the impossibility to preserve video games, since we only buy the right to access and play them, not own them.
In the digital age, actually owning something is next to impossible - on a legal route. So, piracy gains popularity again.
I eventually did, just because I wanted that specific game.
Having strong hardware in every system I build and always playing at a locked framerate (as low as 60), I probably got spared by game-breaking performance loss, but I hate Denuvo for many reasons as well and I'm happy, seeing a game get cured from Denuvo cancer.
It got removed.
We probably won't see any talented Denuvo buster anytime soon.
The throne's going to stay empty for a while, I suppose.
The Denuvo removal, I mean.

Cats and mice aren't going to be friends ever, right?
AI vs. AI in the future.
Bruh...this game is dead.
even left 4 dead 1 & 2 at this year still more alive than this dogshit
D.enerv.o is still strong, unfortunately.
I'm still waiting for "Demon Slayer - Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles" to be cracked!
