Making ignorant comments about VR showing you have never even tried any of the modern stuff.
You don't need to run around in your house. You can sit on your couch with your VR controllers and play.
You can stream Flat xbox cloud games to your VR headset and play on massive screen in VR.
Most new headsets have solved the weight issues you just throw the headset on like glasses and play. Trying to be hyperbolic about this is retarded! Like saying "I have to get out my seat to press a button a console and change the game wahhhhhh".
You can literally sit down with a console (headset) and controller...Something you literally say you want...retarded.
Games are design specifically for VR for a reason. It looks good to you because it's for VR get the CLUE! If it was flat you wouldn't be interested and YOU know it!
If you're that old and have a family VR is great they can watch their reality TV show while you put on the headset and play a game. And still be sat next to them so they can't moan about you being in another room.
If someone thinks you're young by your comments stating your "real" age is not rebuttal of how you come across.
Supports VR play only. Does not support standard play. ("See System requirements ..." message) Don't have a VR headset? You can try to play this VR game with a Google Cardboard (Or a copy-cat clone) viewer, an Android phone and VRidge (freeware)! For more details, see my post. 05/27/24 - Update VRidge has now gone commercial (The latest version is now being sold on Steam). However, you can still download an older version for free or try another freeware alternative like ALVR (Download here ALVR works on some, but not all smartphones). Don't have VR controllers? You can try to play this VR game with two mice using Driver4VR. See demo video on YouTube. Not sure which "cardboard" headset to buy? Check out the following buying guide: "10 questions to ask before buying a Google Cardboard VR headset". Hesitant about playing VR games due to the current fact that not all games support all VR headsets? Then see the post concerning an effort to standardize support for all VR headsets by all games through OpenXR! (You may need to refresh the page as the linked comment may take a while to load up in the page). There is full English support via the English interface, English audio and English subtitles!
Description says VR only. Maybe there's a mod to get to play without any additional hurdles or Dead Island 2 is the better way to take a bath in Zombie giblets.
I die inside when I see people complain that a game is VR only... You have literally millions of games for flat-screen, VR only has a few. You don't like VR stop commenting about it, nobody cares!
Buy a Meta Quest 3s and shut up jealous guys, these things cost just around 300 money and they're brand new. It only came out around October 15th. And the Quest3s is also a standalone VR that can also be used without a PC. Or with a PC, via WiFi or USB. So it doesn't need a connection to the graphics card.
Any other reasons to scream that VR is too expensive? Hmm?
The second one is one of the best vr games out here, if this remake has the same system as that one instead of just better graphics, this is going to be fun. I didn't play this one because was a bit rough to play.
Damn, I'm almost 43, so I'm closer to your age than you might have thought, my crinkly colleague and I don't need anyone to buy me anything. I can care for myself and for my many computers, no problem, so thanks.
It's just annoying to be forced to buy additional uncomfortable gadgets to get into a certain game. Uncomfortable not in terms of a possible head ache, but in terms of getting stripped of the simplicity of just playing with a regular controller on a big screen. That's my personal view and it's shared by many. That's why VR is not too popular. It began with the Virtual Boy and it ended with the Virtual Boy. It's just like that.
If someone enjoys VR, fine by me, but those games should be playable without VR as well. Not having that option is what I do not like.
That's a statement that can be respected. IMHO, the main barrier towards VR being widely accepted Worldwide is its cost for entry. For ~$250USD you can either purchase a basic, dedicated VR headset (I'm not talking about the premium VR headsets like the HTC Vive Pro or the Meta Quest Pro Premium MR/VR) and accompanying VR controllers or a basic console like the Nintendo Switch (Forget about purchasing an XBox One or a PS5 - You'll need to shell out even more money for those premium consoles [I'm not saying that they're not worth it though]).
The dilemma is further compounded when you take into account that many parts of the World are going through a nasty spell of inflation, so extra spending money is currently hard to come by for many people in the face of highly, inflated prices for basic goods! After all, people need to eat first before they can play games~! 😎👍
I don't want anything else than a couch, a TV, a computer, the game and a controller or M + KB for where it's really necessary. No Nintendo-esque new complicated invention to play a video game and no stupid bulky thing around my head (VR goggles).
"There's a new 10/10 Half-Life coming next week!!"
"Whaaat!?? 😲"
"Yes! But...it's VR only..."
"😭😭😭😭😭"
I think that sums it all up. I know, there's a mod that axed the necessity of a VR gadget, but still. AVGN knew it back in 2006. VR is not and never will be a thing for a wide audience. I'd rather see 3D TVs successfully return than this.
IMHO, I think that VR has a good chance to become more widely accepted if only the manufacturers could lighten the weight and the cost of the VR headsets! I think that the technology has the potential for being more widespread but it's still "in it's infancy" (More like toddlerhood) or relatively early stages, until all of the barriers like the physical weight of the headgear can be worked out. Price drops should follow once even more manufacturers start entering the market and the technology becomes standardized (See "OpenXR" here).
I believe that the mod that you're talking about is the one that was successfully used for making "Half-Life Alyx" playable without VR is this made by the "gb2dev" team on GitHub. It's supposed to work for some other games as well, though I haven't tried it yet. 😉
Behold - The future of VR gaming: The lightweight, fully flexible VR bodysuit (See "American Dad" video clip here)! LOL~! 😀
Wow for a 43 year old. You cry like a child. Explain too much as well. So we are all going to assume, like most have said. You cant afford it, or it bothers you with motion sickness. Which is fine, but to legit troll an entire comment section of a pirate gaming site. To make some statement is absurd, and quite fucking childish. No matter your reason, or rebuttal. You come off like a NOT so spoiled brat. As a Atari and commadore player to now. Ive always dreamed of the lawnmower man experience. And its great to see it getting there. But wow bro or sis, or none whatever. Stop the crying, at least here. Nope no one is going to stop you, unless your threaten or spam. And you clearly know that, hence the dumb over and over remarks about what you do not like. NOt even just about said game. But goes out of their way to click the damn link to start with, just to boo hoo. Yea it makes sense!!
its like asking for every flat screen game to be a vr game or asking for every console game to be a pc game you sound like an idiot and you embarrass yourself further with every additional comment different platforms exist deal with it

Any other reasons to scream that VR is too expensive? Hmm?
I'm knowing fine well about Dead Island 2 and I'll keep talking down VR bs as I wish.
Any countermeasures, still?
Mummy and Daddy wont buy you one hey? 😪
Or Don't you like VR , Because you get a little Tummy Ache ?🤮

Or we nuked ourselves to dust and we'd have to start from scratch. No fancy games in the wasteland.
Blue jumpsuits, maybe. 👦🏼👍🏼
Far off the mark, my dear.
Just because I want to sit during gaming.
Are you serious!?
No, of course not.
Many of you VR enthusiasts are as disfunctional in finding true arguments in a discussion as a VR device does to sell itself well.
I'm moving on.
