The translation is absolutely atrocious and feels like they got a five year old to proofread and quality check it. This patch fixes the script to be that of the one that was fan translated back in 2017 and significantly improves the enjoyment of the game. I don't recommend playing it without this. The official translation will sour your experience of the game. https://vndb.org/r108104 Just click the "Official Website" link and overwrite the files in the script folder with those.
Honestly, waiting for a translation is something that can be avoided these days. We already have OCR software like VNTranslator or BubbleTranslator. The problem is that they need you to be online, but removing that trade-off ... well is better than waiting for a shitty translation.
But if the "shitty translation" is a machine translation like how the official one for the game feels then using an ocr software won't make it much more different. Nothing can compare to a human translation from someone knowing what they're doing with an excellent grasp of the language.
A friend of mine who has a laptop with a resolution of 1366x768 can't get the game to scale properly and the text box cuts off a lot of the text. He's tried everything and nothing seems to fix it. My laptop is 1920x1080 and I have no problem rendering the game. Is there anyone else experiencing this? If it really is a resolution lower than 1080p that causes it they should have mentioned that on the steam page that the minimum requirement for the display is 1920x1080p. Success might not be good with pc development. Their pc port of Cotton Reboot has broken controls and is supposed to support xbox & ps3/4 controllers but no controller I tried had ever worked. I ended up having to use xpadder. But back to this game my friend also had the same issue with it's sister game Aoishiro. As for me the games both run perfectly. If anybody knows something that might help we'd appreciate it.
I'm having the same problem here, and I was looking forward to play both games, this is just unfair... If anyone knows how to solve this, we'd be very grateful. Damn you Success.
I told my friend that the only way it looks like he'd be able to play it would be to install pcsx2 and play the ps2 versions of the games. You can find the ps2 one of this game on cdromance already patched with the old english patch of the game but because the old patch is only 88% done the last and most important character arc is left untranslated. It's a lot harder to find Aoishiro than is it to find the ps2 iso of Akai Ito. I was able to find it on archive.org after searching like crazy. If you're interested I have both the games on my google drive. But you need to understand japanese to play Aoishiro and the last part of Akai Ito. My friend is a japanese translator for manga so he was able to understand them.
If anyone knows how to solve this, we'd be very grateful.
Damn you Success.
In-game texts is too zoomed-in.
My resolution is like your friend's.
