Pirated. Played for ten minutes. Immediately purchased. Finished most content in 3 hours. Then I bought the soundtrack. Perfect little game. Really, really nice. Some of the best music in a game I've heard.
Wow, I usually really dislike such games, because I consider they're too "contemplative" and just walking simulators, but this one is a bit different. It's definitely not only a walking simulator, it does contain "quests", although they're very simple. A very young kid could play this. Or a grown-up woman.๐ I looooove the pixelated 3D, it reminds me of Sega Saturn and PS1 games. Characters are super cute, weather is dynamic, and what a gorgeous color theme!๐ Music is super relaxing, controls are perfect(I disagree with one Steam reviewer who says that controls are "wonky"), flying is very satisfying, and overall, it's a very soothing experience. I'm afraid that the game is VERY short, though. (Edit: 2 hours...) Still, it's a keeper for me.๐ It's a little bit of a waste, because the base is here. The world is adorable, everything works perfectly, so I think the developer should have made it deeper and longer.(no sexual jokes, please๐คฃ) I would have added tons of quests... Maybe not necessarily a XP system, because improving the character with new abilities is already satisfying enough, a bit like a Metroid or Zelda game. Maybe we can hope for a Short Hike 2?๐ I wish the best to the developer.
I agree with you on so many points there... Also i share this same pixelated 3d aka psx/saturn era gfx niche alot too... :) Miss you got some dang fine taste!
See my comment above. I love it, but it's extremely simple and short. A perfect adventure for kids. It's really just a good way to spend a relaxing evening. I'm not sure what I could compare it to... I guess you could try something like https://igg-games.com/oceanhorn-monster-of-uncharted-seas-free-download-497518305-2.html, if you want a longer and more difficult experience.
